Enriched Metals in The Alters carry a great risk and a reward that is worth its asking price. Normally, you will find these metals in radiation zones. Mining them out will for sure result in getting radiation to the bone, but the reward phase of mining Enriched Metals comes after you have mined them. Here is a guide to mining the Enriched Metals from the dig site and breaking them to use them in the game.
How To Find & Mine Enriched Metals In The Alters

The icon for Enriched Metals is two regular metals stacked on top of each other with 3 small lines above them. Unlike common Metals, Enriched Metals will appear in Yellow on the map, as shown above. Head over to any radiation zone on the map to locate Enriched Metals.
After you find them, set up the Mining Outpost and connect the outpost to the base by using Pylons. Assign a worker to the outpost to mine the Enriched Metals, or do it manually yourself. At the end of the day, after you have acquired a decent number of Enriched Metals, it’s time to make use of them.
How To Use Enriched Metals In The Alters
You will quickly find that most of the base building and items in the Workshop don’t require Enriched Metal on their list of requirements. Here, you will need to craft a new building, “Refinery.”
After you have crafted Refinery, set it up anywhere in the base and head inside the building. Interact with the computer on the right to break Enriched Metals into Metal and Organics. Refinery will only take Enriched Metals in the pack of five, x5 pieces of Enriched Metals will grant you x5 Metal and Organics.
Tips For Efficient Enriched Metal Mining

You are hitting two materials by breaking down a single one. Always make sure to send a healthy worker to mine the Enriched Metal out of the mining spot. If you are planning to do it, then keep feeding the base with a Radiation Filter to keep the workers from getting injured or sick.
Hire Refiner: To make the refining process inside the Refinery faster, you must unlock Refiner Alter via the Womb. Assigning Jan Reinfer will make the refining process much faster.
Research Advance Outpost: Unlocking a new Enriched Material Outpost will make the mining process even faster. You will find the Enriched Material-related technology under Economy in the Research section.
It is risky to send two workers to two separate Enriched Metal dig sites for mining, as the chance of getting radiation for both is significantly higher. If you fail to keep the Radiation Filter in check, then it could easily lead to a big failure that might jeopardise the run. We recommend that you keep yourself away from the Enriched Metal site until you have a good amount of Radiation Filters in storage. Starting out, focus on mining from the direct Metal and Organic source until you are comfortable enough to set up a Mining Outpost on an Enriched Metal site.
