From crafting to combat, deviants in Once Human help you with a variety of tasks and are your constant companions. One such unique deviant is Pup Buddy. However, acquiring one can be a bit of a challenge. In this article, we have outlined how you can catch a Pup Buddy in Once Human.

The only task that you have to complete in order to catch a Pup Buddy is killing the floating zombies. There are two types of enemies, killing which you have a chance of getting the Once Human deviant:

    • Ede the Balloon Headed Elite enemy
    • Charred Maniac (held up by a dog-shaped floating balloon)

However, it is not assured that you will get this deviant by looting the enemies’ bodies as they are not a guaranteed drop. So, be mentally prepared as you might not get the deviant despite following the instructions.

Many players are of the opinion that the Pup Buddy is only available on PvP servers. However, this is not completely true as these deviants have also been spotted in PvE servers in Once Human. If you want to increase your chances of catching one, we advise you to use the PvP servers as you will have better luck.

Pro Tip: Even if there is no restriction to the kind of weapons that you should use, you might have better luck if you use a melee weapon to bring down your floating enemies.

Even if Pup Buddy is present in quite a few locations, it might be a bit of a challenge to spot them. You can have better luck finding them in Blackfell Fallen Zone [with coordinates (4320, -1320)], High Banks [with coordinates (5391, -5903)], and the Blackfell Oil Fields [with coordinates (5583, -1281)].

You can change worlds in Once Human using a Teleport Tower. You have better chances of finding the enemies as it may spawn in a different world.

It is better to take a look at High Banks first as you will have access to it in Phase 1. Moreover, the Teleport Tower is quite close to the location, so if you don’t find the Balloon enemy, you have the option to change your world and increase your chances of finding one. To get access to the Blackfell Fallen Zone, you will need to wait until Phase 2.

Is Catching A Pup Buddy In Once Human Worth It?

The Pup Buddy helps increase load capability by +50. This will allow you to carry more weapons and items without slowing down. However, to do so, you need the elixir, Featherweight.

Once you place your Pup Buddy in an Isolated Securement Facility, it will gradually create Small Balloons. Head over to the Supplies Workbench and craft the Featherweight elixir using 4 Acid, 3 Glass, and 8 Small Balloons. The effect of this elixir lasts for 7200 seconds; which is a good enough time to collect all resources and weapons and get them back to your territory.
