Getting the Shadow Mantle requires you to follow specific steps in Deltarune, each step must be followed without any mess up to make it work. You will also deal with requirements to unlock specific doors and certain items. We have detailed out all the steps that you must follow to get Shadow Mantle in Deltarune.
Getting the Shadow Mantle in Deltarune
You must achieve S-Rank on Tenna’s Game Show Board two times. You have the option to replay as many times as it takes to do that, and must be achieved on both Act 1 and Act 2. This S-Rank door holds the room to play a game on a TV inside the game, where you will find puzzle items and the ShadowMantle. Here are the steps for ShadowMantle:
Tip: S-Rank on Tenna’s Game Show’s Act 1 requires collecting four keys, and for Act 2, you must collect four photos or pictures and look for Moss Patches.
How To Get the Ice Key In Deltarune

- After completing the first board with S-Rank, you can head through the S-star Changing Room door next to the door with an empty star as its logo. Just head to your left, speak to the NPC at the door to gain access to the backstage. Take the left to get to the game room.
- Here you will find a miniature version of the game we played in Act 1. Interact with the console to play the game. You can play it until the screen says” No Controller“. Now, head outside, and you will spot an item on the floor in the backstage room. Pick that item to receive a new controller, which we can hook to the console to play the game.
- Once you are in the game, your objective here is simple: find the sword and kill anything that moves. On the right of the map, cactus plants will be blocking your path. To break them, you will need to reach Lv.3, so kill enough enemies to get to level 3 to take down the cactus blocking your path. The new area will feature enemies, kill them as well to get to max level (Lv.4).
Note: You will see the level-up and HP details at the top of the screen.
- Once you are at the max level, head to the water section in the middle of the map, take the path right. The next area will have two giant boulders on the right of the screen. Head behind the boulder and start chopping down the trees on its right to get to the next area.
- The next couple of areas will be filled with trees, but the rule stays the same: chop down the trees to move to your right. After passing three areas to your right, move backwards. Heading back to the previous room will spawn a unique area with the red chest in the middle. Unlocking the chest will grant you the “Ice Key”.
Note: It’s a bit of a puzzle to get the chest. After moving to the right, make a left turn to get to a different area, but instead of finding the room filled with trees, you will spot a red chest. Going out of bounds is the only way to get the Ice Key.
How To Open The Blue Door In Deltarune

Now get out and complete Tenna’s Game Show Board number 2 on S-rank. After completing it, head through the same S-Rank door, and you will end up in the same area as before, but this time, when you access the console, you will find a different game.
- Find the sword and kill everyone in the area until you reach Level 2. Now make your way to the starting room, and head to the room on its right. This room will have a water section in the middle, separating both sides. But you can access the other side by taking the raft from the edge of the land. You will also see a waterfall in the north section of the room, but it will be blocked by seaweed.
- Get on the raft, but instead of making it to the right, steer the raft to the top and use your sword to clear out the seawoods in front of the waterfall. Now with seaweed cleared, you can then move up the waterfall to enter the secret area.
- In the new area, you will be on a small island with a single raft on the edge. Get on the raft and move to your left until the way to the north opens, then start heading up until you come across land. It might take a while, but you will eventually reach land. Now turn right, follow the route, and it will lead you to a locked blue door on the wall.
To open the Blue Door, we will need the Ice Key picked up earlier.
How To Solve The Maze in Deltarune

Use the Ice Key to open up the Blue Door, get inside, find the weapon and kill all the enemies until you reach the max level. After you have killed all the enemies, you will be able to take down two orange trees blocking your path north of the area. Chop down the trees, and you will be in a new room with a hooded figure in the corner of the room.
Interact with the hooded figure to make him join your team. Once he joins your team, you will be able to use his power, which will turn the enemies into crystal. This will allow you to solve many puzzles that require pressing two or more buttons at once. The next few rooms will be focused on crystallising the enemies and placing them on the buttons on the floor to unlock the path.
After a few sections of crystallising the enemies to push them to open up new paths, you will end up in a maze. A single room with four different paths leading to four different corners of the room.
Trick to Solve the Maze:
The trick here is to use the white hooded NPC as a check if you are heading in the right direction. If it doesn’t, then you shouldn’t take the route. If you start heading to the right and the white hooded NPC stops in the centre of the room, then rule out that particular path as the wrong one. Take the path that makes the white hooded NPC move with you.
After getting out of the maze, you will be put on a linear route that will take you to the Shelter Key. Now with the key in hand, you should focus on the main quest, head through Tenna’s Castle until you come back to the Greenroom. You will leave the Greenroom for a few minutes before coming back.
How To Get The Shadow Mantle

Now, get to the S-Rank door to get backstage to play the game for the final time. While the final games carry the same formula as the last two games we played on the console, it’s a tad bit different. Just like the last two games we played on console, you will find a sword, but you won’t find any enemies. So you must slay your allies to level up.
Killing your allies will level up your character to Lv.3, which will allow you to destroy the barricade found right of the starting location. Proceed to the new route and go down the manhole at the end. The path is linear, here, you must again kill all the enemies and follow the linear route to come face to face with the boss.
Defeating the boss will allow you to gain access to the new room in the same zone, but with a chest. The route to the chest is blocked here. Simply turn to the right, and your character will break out of the TV’s outer layer. Now you can drop the controller and use the same way to bring your character outside of the TV into it.
Once your character makes it to the game inside the TV, head to the red chest and open it to pick up the item Shadow Mantle.
