Path of Exile 2 features many in-game mechanics that are deep and can be game-changing for newcomers and veteran players. One of these excellent in-game mechanics comes near the end of Act 3. When the game finally takes the covers off the Reforging bench. This new bench adds another layer to the game’s trait system but it also shares some rules that we need to follow to create anything on the bench. Here is a complete guide on Refoging Bench in Path of Exile 2.

How To Unlock The Reforging Bench In Path Of Exile 2

The bench unlocks during Act -3 when you finish the quest titled “Treasures of Utzaal“.

The requirement for Reforging Bench is a mission, you will need to complete the Treasures of Utzaal quest to unlock all Reforging Benches available in Acts 1, 2, and 3 of the game. You can then take leave to any of the Reforging Benches and start working on the bench right away.

We must add three of the same items into the Reforging Bench to get the same item but with rerolled (and hopefully improved) stats.

For the Reforging Bench, we are looking at a particular set of item details to be identical. So we have broken down the item details below into two sections. What Matters section covers all the details that need to be identical and allow Reforging, and the What Doesn’t Matter section covers the stats that don’t apply to Reforging requirements.

    What Matters:

    • Same Rarity: You will need to find the same item in the set of three. Three exact items that share the same rarity. All three of them must be in the same color – Blue, Yellow, or Grey.
    • Same Name: Most of the items in the game will carry the same name, but sometimes you will come across an item with an extra word at the front. But don’t worry, they will still be counted as the item for the same item branch.

For example, if you come across an item called Devastating Axe, then you will need two more of these Devastating Axes for Reforging Bench. However, you can still add an item called “Brutal Devastating Axe“, or “Chilled Devastating Axe“. As long as the primary name of the item is the same, it can be added to the bench.

    What Doesn’t Matter:

    • Affixes: The affixes or modifiers can be different on each one, it doesn’t matter. If one of the items has + 15 Energy Shield, and the other item has 15% Life Regeneration, it will never come into any sort of conflict.

Interact with the Reforging Bench, you will see three empty blocks down the bottom and one empty block at the top. Here add the three identical items at the bottom end of the Reforging Section, and once you hit reforge, all of them will be merged into one, which will appear on the block on the top.

What does it do: Reforging Bench is a seen a great way to reroll an item stat. If the item of your desire has a bad stat, then here is a great way to get the trait that you want to see in the item.

You can find Reforging Bench in Acts 1, 2, and 3 in their respective locations.

Clearfell Encampment: You will find the Reforging Bench in Clearfell Encampment, which unlocks after you finish the quest Finding the Forge in Act 1. We have an excellent guide to help you find the quest and every other detail related to the quest in a simple fashion. You will find the Reforging Bench in the Clearfell Encampment next to the Salvage Bench.

Ardura Caravan: Head to near the wall, the busiest hub area, here you will find the Reforging Bnech in the middle of the area, next to the Salvage Bench.

Ziggurat Encampment: Here you will also come across a Reforging Bench next to the Salvage Bench.
