Collecting resources to craft items and upgrades is part of the core gameplay in No Man’s Sky, but some resources cannot be mined without having the Advanced Mining Laser module on your Multi-tool. Getting an Advanced Mining Laser in No Man’s Sky opens up a lot of gatherable resources, allowing you to procure some rare items. Here is how you can unlock and craft it.

How To Get Advanced Mining Laser Blueprint in No Man’s Sky
Advanced Mining Laser in NMS is unlocked by acquiring its blueprint which can be done using the following methods:
- It can be acquired by progressing through the Base Computer Archives quest.
- It has a chance to be obtained at the end of the Awakenings quest.
- Can be purchased for 75 Nanites from Iteration: Eos NPC aboard the Space Anomaly.
After acquiring the blueprint, you will have to gather the resources required to craft it as a module on your Multi-tool. This will then allow you to mine the larger and rarer mineral deposits on any planet. You should try and get this done as soon as possible, otherwise, you will be missing out on all the potential minerals you can mine while you visit certain planets in your exploration.
How To Craft Advanced Mining Laser in No Man’s Sky

Once you have the blueprint, the Advanced Mining Laser in NMS can be crafted by installing the technology on an empty technology slot in your Multi-tool.
These items will be required to install the Advanced Mining Laser:
- Wiring Loom x2
- Hermetic Seal x1
- Carbon Nanotubes x1
Wiring Loom is the only thing that you will need to buy from a Galactic Trade Terminal as it’s not craftable. Carbon Nanotubes can be crafted using 50 Carbon and Hermetic Seal can be crafted using 30 Condensed Carbon which is obtained by refining Carbon. However, you may not have the blueprints for the Hermetic Seal, in that case, you will have to visit the Space Anomaly and purchase the blueprints.
What Is Advanced Mining Laser Used For in No Man’s Sky?

Advanced Mining Laser in No Man’s Sky is an upgrade for your mining beam on the Multi-tool that not only improves the mining capabilities but also enables Advanced Mining. This allows you to mine previously indestructible minerals that are larger and also makes it powerful enough to mine rare ores/minerals like Radiant Shards on a corrupted planet.
Mining the larger minerals will give you way more yield than the smaller ones so this upgrade is a no-brainer. Keep in mind that the Advanced Mining Laser in No Man’s Sky acts as an A-class upgrade but does not affect the three-upgrade limit so you can stack it with three other regular upgrades without overloading the technology.
