The Gleaming Depths update in Fallout 76 offers a brand new raid to partake in that is just as challenging as the rest of the game. There are new 4-Star Legendary items to farm while you are doing the raids, which is a huge upgrade from the regular 3-Star items that you used to get. You can add these 4-star effects to your gear and equipment to gain buffs, strengthening your build further. If this is something you want to explore in detail, then read on for everything about 4-Star Legendary Items in Fallout 76.
How To Get 4-Star Legendary Items In Fallout 76
There are 2 ways to get a 4-Star Legendary Item in Fallout 76, but both of these first require you to farm the Gleaming Depth raids. The first is to get the Legendary Item itself, and the second is to convert a 3-Star item to a 4-Star item by using a Legendary Item obtained from the Gleaming Depth raids.
The second method gives you far better control on the type of effect you want to transfer to an existing 3-Star weapon, while in the first case you work with what you get. If you scrap a 4-Star Legendary Item at the workbench, you get either:
- One of the Item’s legendary effects as a Box Mod as a one-time use.
- Ability to permanently craft one of the item’s legendary effects.
The Box Mod, along with other crafting ingredients can then be used at a Workbench to transfer the effect to a 3-Star Weapon. Of course, there is always a shortcut to most situations that require high level of farming, which works in this case as well : simply buy it directly from other players!
