How To Find a Planet With Floating Islands in No Man’s Sky
The floating island planets in No Man’s Sky Worlds Part 1 are extremely rare but there are certain things you can do to narrow it down and increase your chances of finding them. But, you will still need some luck to hit a planet that has a floating island and also looks good with your desired color of sky and grass.
Here are the things you need to follow when you are trying to search for planets with floating islands:
- The floating island biome only spawns on lush planets. These are planets that have decent temperatures, an abundance of flora and fauna, and a lush grass-covered surface. Listed below are the types of planets that are considered lush planets, the planet types you need to be looking for.
- Overgrown Planet
- Paradise Planet
- Viridescent Planet
- Bountiful Planet
- Checking every lush planet you find is the way to go, but you can also make sure you warp to systems that have a high chance of lush planets. So make sure you only explore systems with a yellow star as they have the highest chance to spawn lush planets.

- When looking for the next yellow system, check its code in the Galaxy Map and ensure that it is anywhere between G4-G6 and also has the “water” tag, the best would be G5. This code means the general temperature of the system is in the middle rather than being too hot or too cold. Added letters in this code like “p” and “f” are irrelevant to our search.
- Additionally, use your freighter to warp if you can because it will make your search way faster by allowing you to use the Scanner Room to quickly scan all planets in the system right after you warp in. This way you will know right off the bat if there are lush planets in the system or not.
