Risk of Rain 2’s latest DLC, the Alloyed Collective, introduces new areas, new puzzles, and new bosses. One of these puzzles is to decrypt the Encrypted Cerebellum, which gives you access to the hidden true final boss of the DLC, tougher than the original final boss. Here’s what you need to do to decrypt the Encrypted Cerebellum and put down the hidden boss once and for all in Risk of Rain 2.
Activate the Node in Stage Three to Open the Encrypted Portal
The first thing you need to do is reach Stage Three and open the Encrypted Portal by activating a Node in Risk of Rain 2. When you reach Stage Three, look around for a blinking circular red device, which is the Node. Activate the Node by interacting with it. Then, a blue orb will appear at the Teleporter.
Next, activate the teleporter, but be careful, since doing this will spawn a Teleporter boss, the Solus Amalgamator. Defeat the boss, and you’ll notice that the Encrypted Portal has opened up next to the Teleporter. Head through the Portal to reach the next location required to progress this quest in Risk of Rain 2.
Gather Six Sentry Keys to Hack the Barrier & Reprogram the Teleporter
Once you enter the Encrypted Portal, you’ll be sent to the Conduit Canyon, where you must obtain six Sentry Keys to hack the barrier and reprogram the Encrypted Teleporter in Risk of Rain 2. Here, you have to fight Elites with blue shields, as they drop Sentry Keys when defeated. Penetrate their shields to take them down easily. Once you obtain three Sentry Keys, install them in three Sentry Terminals using the ziplines to hack the barrier.
Defeat more Elites to obtain three more Sentry Keys to reprogram the Encrypted Teleporter. Doing this will take some time and effort to complete. Install the three Keys on the three Sentry Terminals once you cross the barrier to activate the Encrypted Teleporter. The device will spawn the Solus Control Unit and the Alloy Hunter boss, so you need to take them down to move on to the next step.
Enter the Encrypted Portal and Defeat Solus Wing
After defeating both the Solus Control Unit and the Alloy Hunter, head through the Encrypted Teleporter to reach Solutional Haunt in Risk of Rain 2. Here, you’ll take on the Solus Wing, which is a pretty tough boss, considering it’s the final boss of the Alloyed Collective DLC. However, decrypting the Encrypted Cerebellum will give you access to the true final boss of the game.
Once you’ve defeated the Solus Wing, enter the portal through its eye to the next location, which is the Hidden Realm: Computational Exchange. In this location, you need to make an offering to a large, soulless Solus unit at the center of the location. To find out what you need to offer, move on to the next step.
Combine the Required Items Via the Chef Behind the Glitchy Wall
Since the large Solus unit will decline your offerings, you must find the Chef, located in the same area behind a translucent wall, and combine the required items in Risk of Rain 2. You need to combine either of the following items:
- Encrypted Cerebellum and Empathy Cores
- Encrypted Cerebellum and Sentry Key
- Encrypted Cerebellum and Encrusted Key
- Encrypted Cerebellum and Orphaned Core
- Encrypted Cerebellum and Prison Matrix
Combine either of these items with the Encrypted Cerebellum to obtain the Exposed Cerebellum. Take the item and offer it to the large Solus unit to open a new Encrypted Portal, thus decrypting the Encrypted Cerebellum in Risk of Rain 2. Enter the portal to reach the Hidden Realm: Neural Sanctum and defeat the Solus Heart boss, which is the hidden boss of the Alloyed Collective DLC.
