How To Deal With The Duck In R.E.P.O.

When you take a look at all the monsters that are ready to terrify you in R.E.P.O, the list will most likely not feature the Duck. But many players are having trouble dealing with it in the game. Here is a guide to help you deal with the Ducks in R.E.P.O.

How To Handle Ducks In R.E.P.O

They are appropriately named Apex Predator, which is a clue to inform the player not to mess with these little creatures no matter how adorable they are to the eye. Here we are going to take a look at the Duck’s attack, rage state, and how to handle them properly without making them mad.

When you start the game, you will eventually come face-to-face with the Duck. There is a higher chance of facing the Duck in Station, Academy, and Manor. The first time, people will fall for the Duck’s innocence. As the duck follows you around waiting for your interaction, that’s when the sinister side of the Duck will slowly unravel.

    Duck’s Attacks:

    • The Duck will follow you like in the real world, but once you grab it, it will open its mouth to reveal sets of sharp teeth, and start attacking anyone around it. The AOE attack can be deadly, the entire attack timer will last for ten seconds after which the Duck will return to its calm state with its innocence.
    • The Duck in R.E.P.O will get angry when it gets hit by an Item, weapon, or in the presence of another monster.
    • Ducks can also jump into C.A.R.T. and open doors. If the Duck is in the Enraged state, then they will break open the doors to chase you down. If you do manage to make the Duck angry, the best thing you can do is to run and try to hide behind as many doors as possible because you can’t kill the Ducks in the game.

    Dealing with the Duck:

    • Like the Witch in Left 4 Dead, the best thing you can do here is to avoid the Duck altogether. Don’t fall for its adorableness and grab it off the floor. That’s when you encounter the problem. Always watch out and listen to the Duck’s quacks to play a bit safe.
    • Don’t alert other monsters if the Duck is around you, that is another surefire way to get the Duck mad and activate its Apex Predator instincts.
    • While it may feel easy, the duck will make things a bit too difficult, as it will always try to get in your way, especially within your crosshair. So an accidental Left Click will make your character pick up the Duck, making the next ten seconds miserable.

Follow the steps to stay out of the Duck’s way to live to see another day. Check our other guides on how to get items and upgrade them in R.E.P.O, how to create and join lobbies in R.E.P.O and how to save game in R.E.P.O
