You and your team have to work together to build a base to survive in, away from the zombie hoard in Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days. Things can get difficult rather quickly, and you might have to relocate somewhere safer to get away from whatever is happening around you. Luckily, there are tons of areas that you can explore to figure out which ones offer the best place to settle down in. If you are wondering how to change shelters in Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days, then this guide will cover it.

You can check your map for the nearest landmarks and hover your mouse over them to see if you can build a shelter here. You will find an option that says Potential Shelter, but it can be unlocked only after completing some prerequisites.

Before you move in, you need to get rid of all the zombies here, while also collecting any loot available. You will notice a Threat level in the area that you plan to move in. This needs to be completely eradicated so the area feels safe. Ensure that you explore every corner and pick out all zombies and kill them off. Also, even if you don’t have all the loot secured in the new area, don’t worry about it. Later on, after you move in, all of the unpicked loot will automatically be stored in your shelter’s inventory.

Once the area has been cleared, you will get notified that the area is safe to build a shelter. If you open up your map and select the area you are planning on moving into, you can find a new option called Move Shelter. Select it, and you will get a new base to set up your operations. All of your workstations will move into the new base, so you don’t have to worry about starting afresh. As for your old base, they will remain intact, and you can move back in anytime if you wish. Just remember to repair your barricade and clear the area of zombies before you move in.
