Gears Of War: Reloaded – How To Easily Kill The Corpser

The Corpser is the first boss you’ll face in Gears of War: Reloaded. It’s a huge spider-like creature that will give you a hard time if you don’t know what you’re doing. For those unaware, the boss has three phases, all of which require the same strategy. In this guide, we’ll explain how to defeat the Corpser in detail, analyzing its weak points and what to do at the end of the boss fight.

When the Corpser boss fight begins, keep your distance from it and hold your fire until it moves its huge tentacles and exposes its underbelly. Make sure you and your duo have an assault rifle with you, as it’s going to take a bit of ammo to get through. The creature will hide its underbelly for a few moments with its tentacles, and as soon as it exposes it, start shooting at it.

After putting a few shots into the underbelly, when the Corpser starts screeching, aim at its mouth and start shooting. You’ll notice that it has yellow eyeball-like features around its mouth and face. Once you’ve damaged the underbelly enough, start shooting at its mouth and face. This will result in the Corpser backing up, which will open a tiny window for you to close the distance with the boss. Don’t get too close, though.

There are three phases to this boss, each of which is similar to the ones described above. will start by blocking its underbelly. During this time, you need to keep your distance and conserve your ammo. Once the boss opens up its underbelly, shoot at it, then direct the shots towards its mouth and face. The Corpser will back up three times before the next step of the fight initiates, which surprisingly does not involve shooting the Corpser at all.

Shoot The Clamps On The Ground

Once the Corpser backs up around three times and gets on the platform, aim at the ground and start shooting at the clamps on the ground located on both your left and right. You’ll notice it’s working once you shoot at them and sparks start flying, which will indicate that the clamps are getting loose. Do this twice, once on the left clamp and then on the right clamp, when the spider-like creature has backed up enough to be on the platform.

It’s worth noting that you shouldn’t be on the platform yourself. Keep a short distance from the Corpser, stay on the rocky ground and shoot at the clamps holding up the platform to end the boss fight. A cutscene will then play out with the Corpser dying in a pool of toxic liquid, and you’ll get your trophy for defeating the first boss in Gears of War: Reloaded.
