Sir Lohengrin is the first boss in the new Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon – Sanctuary of Sarras DLC. He is the first major obstacle you will face when you first start the DLC upon entering the Sarras Chapel south of Cuanacht. He is a formidable foe who can do a lot of damage if you don’t dodge or parry his moves perfectly.
Keep on reading to find out how you can defeat Sir Lohengrin in Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon – Sanctuary of Sarras DLC.
Where to find Sir Lohengrin in Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon

You will find Sir Lohengrin when you start the new Sanctuary of Sarras DLC with a mission called The Descent. If you look at your map, you will see the objective marker at the Southern edge of the Cuanacht map down the river. If you follow the river, you will soon come across the creepy Sarras Chapel at its end.
Once you enter the Chapel, you will first go through a series of hallways and corridors before arriving at a massive cavern. You will notice a broken bridge in the middle. To go to the other side of the bridge, you must descend the stairs to the lowest depth of the cavern.
You will find a small pool here, in the middle of which is a small ruined chapel. Once you go inside, you will find Sir Lohengrin praying in front of the Sarras Shrine. Initiating a conversation with him eventually leads to a boss fight with him.

How to Defeat Sir Lohengrin

Sir Lohengrin in Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon isn’t one of the most mechanically dense boss fights the game has to offer. He is a tanky melee fighter and that’s about all you need to know.
Occasionally, he will also shoot two arching waves of energy, one after the other. All of his attacks do lots of damage, so if you’re playing as a squishy mage, you’ll need to be extra careful avoiding these attacks.
When fighting him, try parrying his hammer swings. He always swings three times, ending the combo with a downward slam attack. It’s best to dodge during this last attack since it often one-shots. However, if you have a strength-focused warrior build wearing strong, heavy armor, these attacks might be less deadly.
The strategy here is simple – parry or dodge his hammer swings and dodge his energy wave attacks. As long as you don’t get hit, you will be fine in this fight.
However, it can be infuriating to see him drink a potion in the middle of the fight, healing himself by 20 to 30 percent of his max HP. Just stay on the offensive and don’t give them an inch.

Rewards for Defeating Sir Lohengrin

Having defeated what will likely be your first boss of the DLC, you’ll receive the following rewards:
- 130 XP
- Dull Throwing Knife x2
- Broken Arrow x2
- Bulb Tissue
- Gills
- Sea Creature Heart
- Hammer of Stupefaction +2
- Unmoored Pilgrims Helm
- Votive Chest
- Martyr’s gloves
- Redeemer’s Greaves
- Baptismal Boots
- Penitent Cloak
Out of all of these rewards, the equipment I got made this fight worth it. His armor pieces are pretty good, serving warrior builds the best since their passives help you regenerate stamina and mana after landing critical hits.
Moreover, his weapon, the Hammer of Stupefaction, does great physical damage, along with having an increased 20 percent stun rate.
However, his Penitent Cloak is by far the best reward you get for beating him. This cloak makes all enemies in the Sanctuary of Sarras DLC region do 20 percent less damage. As such, this becomes one of the best early-game weapons for a strong start to this DLC.
