Throne and Liberty features some complex game mechanics and mastering them to make these work in your favor is a tough but satisfying task. One such element in the game is Runes, and they can make your weapon and gear better. Rune Management System And Rune Types
Open your inventory, and then go to the icon on the bottom left edge. Clicking on it will open up the Rune Management box. If you have any runes in your inventory, you will spot them at the bottom of the Rune Management box. Runes are categorized into three parts:
- Attack Runes – Red – Gear towards crit damage
- Defence Runes – Blue – Perfect for evasion and regen
- Support Runes – Yellow – Raises your resistances and lowers cooldown.
In Throne And Liberty, Runes also come with rarities:
- Common – Gray
- Uncommon – Green
- Rare – Blue
Runes can be applied to weapons, necklaces, rings, and bracelets, as long as the gear has a Rune slot.
How To Add Runes To Gear In Throne And Liberty
Once you have decided on the accessories gear type for rune installation, click on it to see the gear appear in the Rune Management box on the left. In that window, you will also see three hammer icons on the screen.
All the hammer icon sockets will be locked, to insert the runes we must unlock it with an item called Rune Hammer and 338,800 Sollant. There are a variety of ways to get your hands on the Rune Hammer:
- It can be crafted for 100 Rune Fragments, which are obtained by dissolving Runes. The exact amount of Rune Fragments that you get from this is left to the RNG god, you are not going to get accurate details on the amount until after hitting Dissolve.
- Weekly purchase from the merchant.
- Getting from the Battle pass
- Buying it from the Auction House.
- RNG drop from material and rune conversion.
The Rune Hammer also comes in handy to set the Rune Synergy for the applicable gear.
What Is Rune Synergy In Throne And Liberty?
Rune Synergy are bonus traits that get unlocked when a gear is slotted with a particular sequence of colored Runes.
When we use the Rune Hammer to unlock a Rune slot, the type of slot that gets unlocked will be random. Each slot will be different from the other. You have to repeat the process three times to unlock the three Rune slots for that gear. Since each slot unlock is random, in the end, the sequence order could be Red, Blue, Yellow or Blue, Yellow, Red.
In the Rune Management system, click Rune Synergy List on the right. Each Rune Synergy is a combination of Attack, Support, and Defense. On the list, you will find many synergies with a random array of colors. Here one synergy might list Yellow, Blue, and Red, and another one will have Red, Blue, and Yellow.
Look for Rune Synergies that have the same color sequence as your gear. So if the gear socket has Red, Blue, and Yellow, then you need to look for the synergy that fits Red, Blue, and Yellow to activate the bonus.
If the gear doesn’t have the proper combination of colors to get the Rune Synergy trait that you are looking for, then you need to reroll it by using another Rune Hammer until you get the order right. Once you find the perfect Rune Synergy, it’s time to put runes in the socket to trigger the bonus. Changing the type of Rune will cost 169,400 Sollant.
Where To Farm Runes In Throne And Liberty?
Runes can be gained from world events, bosses, and dungeon farming. If you are looking for the best way to farm these runes, you must hit Challange Dungeon. Every week you will get to interact with two challenge dungeons. They are Tier 2 dungeons that drop generous rewards at the end.
Since you don’t have to invest anything to access the challenge dungeon, they make up for a great farming location in Throne and Liberty. Like most rune systems, the element of RNG persists in farming as well. The challenge dungeon has its own tier system, and you can manually raise the Tier level to increase the difficulty as well as the drop rate of higher-grade rewards.
Tip: If the host has cleared the dungeon on Tier 9, then anybody joining the host game will have the option to start the challenge dungeon from Tier 9. Defeating a boss in the challenge dungeon might drop Runes.
Other Ways of Farming Runes:
- Event Rewards: Some events have Runes as a participation or completion reward.
- Open–World Dungeon – You can also do some open-world dungeons to find the Runes.
- World Boss– If you are up for the challenge, then you might get Runes as a reward for completing the challenge.
- Crafting: You can craft a Rune chest with 320 Rune Fragments and 1 Precious Polished Crystal. The Rune chest has a chance to drop an Epic caliber rune.
How To Upgrade Runes In Throne And Liberty
You can level up Runes by finding duplicates of that same Rune. It gets a bit trickier if the rune has a modifier or a bonus stat attached to it, in that case, to upgrade the Rune you will need another one with the same modifier.
- Common– Gray – Level up to 20
- Uncommon – Green – Level up to 40
- Rare – Blue- Level up to 60
