There is a new Elusive Target mission in Hitman III, where you will be tasked with killing Le Chiffre. Fans of the James Bond series will recognize the target from Casino Royale, and it is now up to you to assassinate him. Le Chiffre himself is quite calculating, which makes this challenge even trickier to complete. Here are some tips on trying to take down Le Chiffre in Hitman.
Le Chiffre Location in Hitman
Le Chiffre is part of The Banker elusive target list, and this list focuses on killing celebrity figures as part of your contract. Accepting the contract will take you to the casino in Paris. Head up to the VIP room of the casino to meet up with your target, but be warned, the area is swarming with security.
For your loadout, bring along a tuxedo, 3 coins, and any melee weapon like a Fiber Wire. You can start from the Red Carpet, then work your way through the mission. An easy way to get close to Le Chiffre is to get an invitation to his poker game, or sneak past through a secluded area to reach the VIP room. All methods to reach your target are discussed below.
Win the Roulette Game
Once you make your way to the main casino area from the Red Carpet starting point, you can spot Abhijeet Rangan at the Roulette table. Speak to him and bet 10 million for the Poker Invite. Then, head to the back of the room to speak to the dealer and cash in all your money.
Collect your 10 million in chips, then head back to the Roulette table and cash them all in. Start the game and wait for the winning number. Sometimes, the wins can be random, so you might have to try again if you want to get the pass.
Eliminate Agent Smith
From the main casino area, head left and enter the open doors to find Agent Smith. Quickly get behind him and kill him, then obtain the poker invitation from his body. Do remember to stash his body away inside the large crate at the back of the room before you venture forwards. This is the easiest way to get your poker invitation without doing Agent Smith’s side mission.
Enter Without an Invitation
You can skip your task in getting an invite and heading straight to the VIP room.
- To do that, enter the main casino area and enter the room with Agent Smith in it.
- Ignore him, then enter the doorway on the right side.
- Follow the corridor and enter the first open door on the left.
- Head up the staircase and continue into the next room to find another set of stairs to take.
- Once you reach the top floor, enter the doorway on the right, immediately head into the VIP room on the left, and enter the Voltaire Suite across the room.
- Don’t worry about the guard in the room for now. Instead, wait for the auction staff member to pass through the room first, which usually happens around the 1 minute mark.
- Once his back is turned, close the doors, then either drop a coin nearby or overflow the bathroom sink next door to get the guard’s attention.
- Take out the guard once he’s distracted, then steal his outfit.
- Don’t forget to stash his body inside the nearby closet. You can then exit the suit and head back to the VIP room to wait for Le Chiffre.
Getting the Antidote
Speak to Le Chiffre once the opportunity arises, after which you will be forced to play a game of poker. During the game, your vision will start to get blurry, and you will quickly realize that you have been poisoned. You have exactly 1 minute to find the antidote, so make your way downstairs and exit the building. Head over to the car parking area past the Palace Garden and ignore the guards who will try and stop you. Enter the marked building on the left and you will spot the antidote behind the door.
If you don’t get the antidote on time, you will be tied up in the casino’s basement. After the cutscene, you can struggle to get free, but you need to be quick and hide behind the barrel on the left as soon as you are free. Subdue the guard once he gets close enough, then loot his body and the room for weapons and items. If you had let Agent Smith live from earlier, then he would be down here instead to free you.
All Ways to Eliminate Le Chiffre
Hide the dead guard’s body, then head over to the locker room to collect your starting outfit. This is the same room where you could get the chef outfit in the main mission. Then, make your way back to the poker room. But, before you head inside, you can spot the poker dealer standing out on the balcony on the right.
Speak to him and threaten him to let you win, then head back to the poker room to speak to Le Chiffre again. Now, there are a couple of ways you can eliminate Le Chiffre, and all possible outcomes are given below.
Win Against Le Chiffre
If you had spoken to the dealer before entering the poker room, then this elimination type will be easy to do. While playing poker, win the hand and get all of Le Chiffre’s money. This will end the game, and you can watch through the security camera as he gets shot by the General, thus effectively eliminating your target.
Subdue Le Chiffre
After you make your way up the stairs towards the VIP poker room, instead of heading through the double doors, turn right towards the balcony where you would have met the poker dealer. You will spot another door on the left, enter the room and wait for the auction staff to pass through the room and leave before subduing the croupier. Take his outfit and stash his body, then make your way to the VIP room.
For this outcome, when you meet Le Chiffre for the first time, don’t agree to play poker and keep talking to him while standing away from the poker area. He will be forced to follow you, after which you enter the suite across the room. If you haven’t eliminated the guard here from earlier, then he might spot you, so quickly duck into the bathroom on the left. Le Chiffre will follow you in, then close the door behind him, lure him using a coin, then subdue him. Hide his body in the cupboard right after, then exit to complete the mission.
Poison Le Chiffre
Before loading into the mission, bring the Lethal Poison Vial with you and start from the Palace Garden. After that, follow the steps below to poison Le Chiffre.
- Head right and stick to your left side wall while ignoring the stage and the doorway leading into the building.
- Jump over the barricade, and continue going left till you spot a drain pipe going up.
- Climb up it and it will lead you straight to the poker room.
- There will be some guards up in the balcony, so quickly duck through the doors right opposite to enter the VIP poker room.
- Now, you need to locate Le Chiffre’s eye drops and add the poison in it.
- To find the eyedrops, exit towards the balcony behind the poker table, then go left.
- Climb down the ledge of the balcony and continue to go right while holding on to the ledge of the building.
- You will reach a second balcony, keep going all the way around to avoid the guard standing near the entrance.
- Once you are out of the guard’s gaze, climb up and enter the doorway on the right, then enter the door on the left.
- This is the auction room, and you will find the eyedrops on the table here. Interact with it and pour in your poison.
- You can exit the room through any doorway and make your way back to the poker room.
- Don’t talk to Le Chiffre, rather, wait for his guard to come up to him and comment about his bleeding eye.
- You can then watch the rest of the scene unfold and have Le Chiffre eliminated.
- Another way to eliminate Le Chiffre using the eye drops is to collect the Rat Poison from the basement. The basement can be found beside the Wine Cellar at the lower floors of the casino.
- Then, follow the rest of the steps to pour the poison into the eye drops. But, instead of Le Chiffre dying on the spot, he will rush to the bathroom in Voltaire Suite.
- Follow him to the bathroom and close the doors, then drown him to eliminate him quickly.
Shoot Le Chiffre
If you are okay with some high packed action, then you can just walk up to Le Chiffre at the poker room and shoot him. But, everyone around the casino will now be on high alert, so you need to quickly make your escape or kill anyone standing in your path. Make your way to the helicopter in the Garden and hop into it to make your quick escape.
Some players have also found a stealth way to shoot him, and that is to snipe him from a distance. Place the sniper in your loadout and head over to Pile Driver Barge. Make your way up to a vantage point that overlooks the casino. You will be directly viewing the poker room’s doorway from here. The next step depends on your accuracy, speed, and timing.
Right after Le Chiffre leaves the auction room to head over to the poker room, you have a small window where you can see him enter. Use this time to shoot him and the rest of the mission will be taken care of. You can also shoot the chandelier above the poker table once Le Chiffre has taken a seat to kill him and everyone else at the table.
