In Helldivers 2, you get to face off against a newer Automaton called the War Strider. This assault robot was dropped in the latest update, so you can try your best to take it down and get some unique rewards. War Strider in Helldivers 2
Before we dive into how to defeat the War Strider, let’s take a look at the Automaton’s build. The War Strider comes equipped with two laser cannons in front that take a while to charge up before shooting. Behind the bot are two grenade launchers that will spew grenades randomly, which are lethal enough to eliminate you.
Its lasers can create knockback as well as deal massive damage, so the only way to avoid them is to dodge or run around. You can also take cover behind the many obstacles around and plan your strategy to take it down. Going at it headfirst will not be a wise decision here, so you need to prepare yourself first before going in.
How To Beat the War Strider in Helldivers 2
The easiest way to take down the War Strider is to use the MLS-4X Commando, Quasar Cannon, or any anti-tank rocket or grenade launcher. Just aim and shoot at the bot’s chest, groin, or legs to kill it.
If you are looking to target weak points, use an APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle or an MG-206 Heavy Machine Gun to aim at the lower section between the bot’s legs, and its kneecaps.
Irrespective of your loadout, it is a good idea to first try and get the laser guns in front and the grenade launchers out of action to make the battle manageable.

War Strider Location
The War Strider usually spawns on higher difficulties like Extreme and above. They are usually encountered around Bot Drops, but there have been sightings of them around Bulk Fabricators and Automaton Outposts as well. While exploring the Metropolis biome, you can encounter a couple of them on patrol.
