The areas of God of War Ragnarok are filled with treasures and loot but some of these loots are locked behind various challenges and skills. Cliffside Ruins is one of the areas in the game filled with treasures, to fully explore every nook and cranny of the land, you will need to return to the area many times. But there is a giant stone door blocking the pathway to the ruins, when you are at the location, it will feel like a dead end. So here is a guide to open the gate near Cliffside Ruins in Vanaheim.
Guide To Unlock The Gate Near Cliffside Ruins In Vanaheim
The secret to unlocking the gate in Cliffside Ruins in Vanaheim involves a bit of platforming and then positioning yourself just correctly enough to use Sigil Arrows & the Blades of Chaos to destroy some red vines; which unlocks an altar for Atreus to interact and open the gate. Here are the detailed steps:
- When you reach the Locked gates in Cliffside Ruins, you need to turn the boat around and turn left. From the shore, we can get into Cliffside Ruins. The shore is at the east of the stone gate in Cliffside Ruins.
- From the shore head straight, and you will notice a torch on the wall. You will find a climbable wall left of the torch.
- Once we are on the upper floor, here we need to move to our left. There are a lot of platforms here but we need to be on a specific platform to raise the gate.
- It is crucial where we land, first land on the platform to our left, and then jump again to the platform ahead of us. Instead of taking the walkway to our right, jump on another platform to the left. Don’t worry our jumping platform section ends here.
- Right across the platform, you could see a single chain hanging off the rock with red vines surrounding it. Equip your Blade of Chaos, and burn down the vines. You have to use Atreus’s Sigil Arrows to create a chain reaction to make the explosion reach the vines around the chain.
- The explosion will clear out all the vines around the chains, get down from the platform to the ground below, and make your way to the chain. We can now use the chain to get to the top.
- Now after a few steps, you will find an altar overlooking the locked gate at Cliffside Ruins. Interact with the altar to create a Runic word on the barricade, now command Atreus to lower the barricade.
That’s it, the gate of Cliffside Ruins is now open for you to go through. Get on the boat and start sailing for the new adventure.
