Alongside character levels and Skills, Weapons are a major source of power in Arknights Endfield. Proper weapons will grant huge boosts to a character’s Main Attribute, spiking their performance and providing wholly unique passives.
Leveling and upgrading Weapons is a bit of a process, so we’ll go over what to look out for as you explore Talos-II to guarantee the performance of your Weapons.
Weapons are found in plenty of different ways, primarily through the Arsenal Exchange in the Acquisition Center. Whenever you pull, you’ll amass Arsenal Tickets, which you can use to pull for weapons or buy a selection directly.

EXP Leveling

Like characters, weapon leveling comes down to finding and consuming EXP materials. Alternatively, you can consume extra weapons for EXP, though this is ill-advised. Extra weapons are useful later, so its best to use the materials granted from Weapon EXP Protocol Spaces.
Once a weapon reaches its current level cap, it’ll need to be Tuned to the next tier. Tuning works like Elite Tiers on characters, requiring a sum of Cast Ties and different tiers of Onyx. Cast Ties can be found in different Weapon Tuning Protocol Spaces, making them easy enough to amass.
Onxy are more complicated, only available from Rare Mining Sites locked by certain side quests. For the first tier, Kalkonyx, you’ll need to complete the quest Cost of Hope 1 given from Fiona in the Baker Tasks menu.
The higher tiers of Onyx can be mined out in the open of multiple areas, so Cost of Hope is the only real roadblock to leveling your weapons.
Potentials and Essences

Potentials work the same for weapons as they do for characters, requiring multiples of the same weapon. Instead of unlocking new passives, they upgrade the unique passives that weapons they have on offer.
Potentials act as extra boons for getting the same weapon multiple times. Less important than for characters, so less important to shoot for.
Essences work as tertiary upgrades, small boosts that are harder to come by, but can add individual points to different weapon passives. You’ll find essences as you explore areas, though they’ll only ever be your priority if you really want to finalize the power of a weapon.
