Ghost of Yotei’s Chapter 1 is filled with side quests, one of which is the “A Flower for Your Thoughts” side tale. It involves collecting three blue flowers of forgiveness, called Hydrangea, around the Amber Respite Shrine in the Tokachi Region and giving them to a nearby settler. At the beginning of the Shrine’s trail, you’ll find a note that will trigger this tale. Finding these flowers can be a bit confusing, so here’s where you need to look in Ghost of Yotei.
Blue Flower of Forgiveness #1

Before collecting the flowers, you need to complete the Amber Respite Shrine first. Then you can proceed to collect them. For the first blue flower, head to the Shrine, then turn left and slide down the gravel path. As you drop down, you’ll notice another such gravel path on the right. Slide down to the lake below. Once you’re there, swim to the far right of the little lake, and you’ll find the first blue flower of forgiveness on a rock, by the waterfall.
Blue Flower of Forgiveness #2

From the first flower, turn back and head to the opposite side of the lake by swimming through the water. On the right, you’ll notice the edge of a waterfall, with water flowing down the cliffside. Here, the second blue flower of forgiveness will be located on the left of the water, as shown in the image above.
Blue Flower of Forgiveness #3

From the second flower, turn back and head to the area with the white trees and yellow leaves at the back. In that area, you’ll find the last Blue Flower of Forgiveness required for the quest on the left of the path. Now that you’ve collected all three blue flowers, there’s one last thing left to do for this side tale in Ghost of Yotei.
Place the Blue Flowers Beside the Settler

Once you’ve collected all three blue flowers, head back to the entrance point of the Amber Respite Shrine and place the flowers in the basket to the right of the settler. After doing so, you’ll complete the “A Flower for Your Thoughts” quest, and you’ll be granted the Charm of Lingering Affliction for your troubles in Ghost of Yotei.
