Blade is the newest Dualist hero to join Marvel Rivals and has a difficulty rating of 3 stars. His two main weapons help deal melee and ranged damage, making him well-rounded and versatile. With the right team and learning more about his abilities, you get to perfect his moveset while you are out on the field. This guide will explain everything there is to know about Blade and how to play him in Marvel Rivals.

Blade is a 3-Star Dualist with 350 HP. His weapons include the Ancestral Sword and the Hunter’s Shotgun, making him versatile enough to deal with short and long-distance attacks. Let’s take a closer look at all of his abilities and what they do.

    NameDescription
Ancestral SwordUsing the Ancestral Sword, Blade will rush forward.
Hunter’s ShotgunDraws the Sword of Dracula after charging power. This move is perfect for executing laido strikes while dashing forward. This creates a slashing zone around you, dealing attacks on enemies within. Enemies who take hits from this sword get Reduced Healing debuff.
Thousand-Fold Slash (Ultimate)This is a Team Up Ability. Utilize Cloak and Dagger to inject dark and light energy into Blade and Moonknight. This creates a Light and Dark Realm, turning them both invisible. This also enables Healing Over Time for Blade, and triggers Swift Strike on targets.
Daywalker DashDash forward and shoot enemies with your gun, which applies the Healing Reduction debuff when they are hit. If dashing forward and using your sword, apply Slow debuff instead.
Bloodline AwakeningIncreases slash speeds after awakening the bloodline for Dhampir. The slash speed keeps increasing while applying continuous attacks and Whirlwind slashes. You end up receiving a Reduced Healing debuff, but also gain the Lifesteal buff which activates each time you attack.
Scarlet ShroudParrying with the Ancestral Sword will apply the Unstoppable buff to you temporarily. This reduces all damage taken while being attacked in the front. Also decreases the cooldown for Daywalker Dash.
New MoonThis is a Team Up Ability. Utilize Cloak and Dagger to inject dark and light energy into Blade and Moonknight. This creates a Light and Dark Realm, turning them both invisible. This also enables Healing Over Time for Blade, and also triggers Swift Strike on targets.

Blade’s skillsets not just apply melee and ranged damage, but also include healing buffs and debuffs, either on yourself or your targets. Utilize this to either reduce the health of your targets or grant yourself a healing buff. Since you don’t have to worry too much about your HP, focusing on mastering your weapon usage will be your numero uno priority.

Since Blade is highly versatile, this hero is best used in the frontlines or also held back, mainly attacking from the sidelines. Whichever position you pick for him, you need to get Blade moving and working on his forward attacks. This will trigger Daywalker Dash, which applies a debuff to your targets depending on which weapon you use.

Also, try to parry as much as possible to trigger Scarlet Shroud while using the Ancestral Sword. This will reduce the cooldown for Daywalker Dash and reduce oncoming attacks. If overwhelmed by enemies, unleash the Thousand-Fold Slash when ready, which helps in crowd control. Ultimately, trigger Bloodline Awakening at the end of the match to deal your final blows.

If you have Cloak and Dagger in your team, then utilizing your ultimate move becomes much easier when their team-up ability is active, as you stay hidden.

    Best Team For Blade

    • Cloak and Dagger – It comes as no surprise to add them to your team roster, since using their Team Up ability will help Blade in the long run.
    • Moonknight – Since Cloak and Dagger’s Team Up Ability also extends to Moonknight, receiving his help during tough times is an added bonus.
    • Mantis – Helps enhance Blade’s Lifesteal during Bloodline Awakening and also boosts his attacks.
    • Doctor Strange – Blades and Strange’s Ultimates synergize well to deal maximum damage.
    • Magneto – Supports and protects Blade while he pushes forward.

    Best Counters for Blade

    • Winter Soldier – Blade won’t get a chance to catch up to him, plus Winter Soldier’s added firepower will take down Blade rather quickly.
    • Hawkeye – Another long-ranged hero who is fast enough to encumber Blade.
    • Punisher – His brute force alone is enough to counter all of Blade’s close-range attacks.
    • Hela – Another formidable counter to Blade, as she’s able to stun and create AoE damage all around him.
    • Iron Fist – His blocks will easily withstand Blade’s slash attacks, countering him and dealing damage quickly.

Blade, once mastered, will turn out to be the best hero to use in Marvel Rivals. By utilizing his skillset and practicing them thoroughly, you are sure to bring down enemies with just a slash or shot from your weapons.
