Complete Guide On Unstable Molecules In Marvel Rivals: How To Get, Use & More

Unstable Molecules in Marvel Rivals are another type of currency that can be used to purchase recolors of existing Legendary skins in the game. Unfortunately, they aren’t free, but NetEase has added ways to get them at no cost with newer seasons. All you need to do is play the game. Alternatively, you could also exchange an existing currency to get them as well. Here’s everything you need to know about obtaining Unstable Molecules and using them.

Unstable Molecules can be earned from the Season 3 Battle Pass via Chrono Tokens. They are free rewards available on the following pages of the Pass: 3,4,8, and 10, and can be purchased with 200 Chrono Tokens each. Alternatively, you can also exchange your premium Lattice currency for Unstable Molecules at a 1:1 ratio. Currently, these are the only two ways to obtain Unstable Molecules in the game.

Each of the Battle Pass Unstable Molecules gives you 100 of them, and there are another 100 Unstable Molecules on Page 1; however, to get that, you need the Season 3 Luxury Battle Pass, which costs 990 Lattice. If you’re up for grinding, you can easily get free 400 Unstable Molecules out of the Battle Pass, which you can use to purchase your favorite color swaps or “Chromas” of your owned Legendary and Epic outfits.

In the future, there might be more ways to earn this currency, such as through in-game events, but for now, you can either grind out the Free Battle Pass or exchange your premium currency. We recommend using your Chrono Tokens to obtain the Unstable Molecules from the Battle Pass, as the latter is more costly, and you can’t get Lattice easily.

    Using Unstable Molecules

To spend your Unstable Molecules, head to the Customization tab of the Heroes menu, look for the skin that supports this feature, and purchase a new costume color for 600 Unstable Molecules. It’s worth noting that not every skin supports this feature yet, and only a handful of Legendary and Epic skins, such as Psylocke’s Vengeance skin, Luna Snow’s Mirae 2099 skin, have recolors you can purchase with 600 Unstable Molecules.

It’s also important that you own the skin before you can purchase its color swap with your Unstable Molecules. There’s no way to acquire recolors or Chroma on their own, so you must own the skin that supports this feature and then spend your hard-earned Unstable Molecules on them.

Recent additions to the color swap include Sunshine Land Shark (Jeff the Land Shark) and Immortal Sovereign (Scarlet Witch) in Season 2 and Cool Summer Luna (Luna Snow) in Season 3, but the selection is still minimal. However, there’s no doubt that NetEase is planning on bringing more Unstable Molecule recolors to Marvel Rivals for both Legendary and Epic outfits.
