The Wake of Water update for Enshrouded lets you expand your base to include new features. One of those features is to unlock the mill to grind down bars and metals into dust. Like most workbenches, you need to go through certain requirements to unlock and build the mill. If you are stuck on this objective, continue reading below to learn how to obtain the mill.

Visit the Alchemist and interact with them to bring up the Alchemist menu, then select the Production Place option to find and craft the Mill. Crafting the mill will require the following items:

    • 30x Wooden Planks
    • 20x Stone
    • 10x Lump of Clay
    • 10x Iron Bars
    • 1x Improved Millstone

All of the above items are common materials that you would have obtained as you play the game, except for the Improved Millstone.

How to get Improved Millstone in Enshrouded

To get the Improved Millstone, head over to Reverreach in Dragondream Lake, just northwest of Nomad Highlands Ancient Spire.

    • Enter the stone structure and defeat the enemies here.
    • Find an opening to take you down deeper underground.
    • You will spot a moving millstone that you need to stop.

    • Head back up and exit out the side to find two large moving water wheels.
    • Jump down and dive into the water below, then follow the water’s flow to find the source.
    • You will spot two water gates that are open. Get close to the gates to get an interact icon.
    • This will close them and stop the water wheels from spinning.
    • Head back up to the main area and revisit the underground section again to collect the Improved Millstone.

    Building the Mill

Besides the main body of the mill, you will also require an additional item to provide energy to the mill; either craft the Water Mill or the Windmill Sails and attach them to the mill base to power it up. You will find these options under the Alchemist menu, under the Production Place option.

If you have a water source close to your base, then the water mill will do, else you need to craft the windmill sails. The water mill offers two options: a small water mill or a large water mill. You need to craft the small water mill first to unlock the large water mill, then switch them out. Below are the items required to craft each of the attachment types.

    Small Water Wheel

    • 4x Wooden Planks
    • 7x Tropical Wood
    • 2x Iron Bars

    Large Water Wheel

    • 10x Wooden Planks
    • 20x Tropical Wood
    • 6x Iron Bar

    Small Windmill Sails

    • 8x Wooden Planks
    • 16x Tropical Wood
    • 2x Iron Bars
    • 8x Fabric

    How to Use the Mill

There are four recipes that unlock with the mill, and those are for the Iron Dust, Gold Dust, Aquamarine Dust, and Mother of Pearl. Each of these recipes will require 1 unit of either an Iron bar, Gold bar, Aquamarine, or Pearl, depending on what you wish to craft. The end items are further required to craft higher-tier gear at the Blacksmith and collect new potions at the Alchemist.

That’s everything there is to know about building and using the new Mill feature in Enshrouded, which will help you navigate the new Wake of Water update.
