Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is a nostalgic take on the original Dragon Quest III video game. You continue the quest left behind by your father and try to overtake Zoma and save the world. You will encounter some old faces in the new remake as you fight several monsters and complete various quests. There are some new trophies added to the game, and one of them is the Stately Sword trophy guide.

For this, you need to collect the Sword of Kings, and this requires you to take a long and winding path around a few regions and complete a few favors to collect the right items. In this guide we have put up how to get the Sword of Kings in Dragon Quest 3 Remake.

How To Get the Sword of Kings in Dragon Quest III Remake

You will get the quest to craft the Sword of Kings and return it to its former glory after visiting the Blacksmith in Kol. There is a lengthy process where you need to collect several parts and talk to certain NPCs before you can collect the Sword of Kings. As a first task, the blacksmith asks to retrieve his Forging Hammer.

After his escape from Jipang to Kol, the Blacksmith accidentally left his tools behind. Head over to Jipang and visit the house in the northern part of town. Enter the house and talk to the person inside to get the hammer. If you don’t find the hammer yet, try progressing through the questline till you defeat Baramo, then visit the house again.

After doing just that, visit the blacksmith back in Kol and hand over the hammer. He will tell you how he can help you fix a special sword, provided you can get the required items for it. Below are all the items you need to collect for this quest.

Head over to Damdara to get a lump of Orichalcum from the stables here. You can find the deserts of Damdara while traveling southwest of Tantegel Castle and crossing a bridge. Talk to the villagers to get hints on where the Orichalcum is, which will lead you to the stables where the horses are grazing. Investigate the hay on the floor to get the first item on the list.

Your next task is to pick up a Broken Blade from one of the houses in Cantlin. You can reach Cantlin by heading east from Damdara. Take the southern bridge from Damdara to find a path heading east into Cantlin. You will find this town deep within the mountains located north of the toxic swamp. Once you reach the town, head west to find a house. Inside the house are several scrolls and books, head upstairs and enter the room on the far left to find the Broken Blade on the table.

With these two items in hand, return to the Blacksmith in Kol and hand them over. He will then give you the Sword of Kings, which is one of the most powerful swords in DQ3 Remake. Once you get that you unlock the Stately Sword Trophy as well. There is another unique weapon to get your hands on called the Mountaincleaver in Dragon Quest 3 Remake, and we have a guide covering how to get that as well.
