Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is fast becoming one of the top selling games of the season, as fans of the Dragon Ball Z manga and anime have a lot to reminisce about. You can pick and play as your favorite characters, unlock different storylines and complete the recommended missions. Occasionally, during your missions, you might have to make some decisions. One such decision-making happens early on in the game, during Goku’s mission ‘The Earth’s Mightiest Duo’, where you can choose to work with Piccolo or do it alone. In this guide we have given details on all the possible outcomes of this choice in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.

Should You Pick Piccolo Or Go Alone In Dragon Ball Sparking Zero?

Selecting either one of the two options has an impact on the episodes that open up as the story progresses. However, the game gives you the option to go back to the episode and choose a different path than what you selected before. So for the completionists out there, selecting either one will not lock you out of hunting down trophies and achievements, or experiencing a different set of fights in the other timeline.

In Goku’s Saga Chapter 1, The Earth’s Mightiest Duo, after defeating Frieza using the Spirit Bomb, the episode splits into two branches. You get an option to either pick Piccolo’s path, or Go It Alone. Let’s look at each of these options to see what kind of a storyline and episodes they lead to.

    Work With Piccolo

If you pick to go with Piccolo, you can unlock new episodes under this branch. First up, you get the Rematch and Result episode, and if you do defeat Raditz quickly, you unlock the alternative timeline episode ‘Pushing the Limit‘ Both these episodes are relatively easier, so you can quickly complete this section. Successfully beating Raditz will alter the endings for Vegeta and Nappa, and you will also encounter different events on Planet Namek once you reach Chapter 2.

If you choose to not take up Piccolo’s offer, you will be joined by Krillin instead. This route will unlock the Raditz vs. The Turtle School episode. The story will again branch out, where you either survive the Raditz fight for a particular time or defeat Raditz entirely. Defeating Raditz will lead you to the alternate Side by Side episode, and you get to fight Great Ape Vegeta and ultimately follow the path to work with Vegeta. In the end, you have to save Planet Namek from Frieza’s attacks with Vegeta’s Help.

So ultimately, you can choose which path you wish to go with for your first playthrough, then go back and select the different option paths to relive different events. In the long run, it won’t matter whether you pick Piccolo or go alone in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, as you can always do both pathways eventually.
