The end of Episode 6 in Dispatch has many of us wondering what would happen next. It is a surreal experience to see a central character perish in an act of heroism. Here, we are going to take a look at exactly what happens in the finale, especially to Chase.
Does Chase Die in Dispatch?
The short answer is yes, Chase does seem to die at the end of the episode. We see him saving Invisigal from the hands of the Shroud right at the end. Then, after saving Invisigal, he takes a few steps and then falls on the ground. Here, we see Invisigal tries to call Chase, but he doesn’t answer. With that, the episode ends with a black screen.
Can Chase be saved in Dispatch?
No, every ending leads to the same conclusion. It doesn’t matter if you picked Blonde Blazer over Invisigal or Phenomaman over Waterboy in the previous episodes. The ending of episode 6 stays just the same, we will always see Invisigal sneaking into the enemy base and getting caught by Shroud. There is no scenario where you can prevent what happens to Chase at the end.
Alternative Theory
From what we know so far, Chase dies at the end, but it is officially the first death in the Dispatch game. We have no idea how the story is going to unfold; we might see him in a hospital, as happened in the middle of episode 6, where Mecha Suit got blown up into pieces, but in the next scene, we saw Robert in the hospital, doing just fine.
There is a possibility of seeing Chase in a hospital, as he is one of the beloved characters in the SDN. The only father figure Robert has in the story, who is killed, sets a good tone, but there is still a chance of seeing him again. Killing him definitely ups the stakes in the game, as we can speculate Invisigal will get a lot of flak for sneaking into the base. We might get to experience a different side to the story about Invisigal dealing with her lack of judgment.
What we can predict is that this will definitely be a turning point for Invisigal, as she might change her attitude after blaming herself for Chase’s death. Again, it’s all just speculation; we will see more of it in the later Dispatch episodes.
