To make the Gunburn effective in either PvP or PvE, you need specific attachments. The following God Roll is reliable, though you can adjust it to suit your preferences.
Best PvE God Roll For Gunburn
- Barrel: Polygonal Rifling/ Arrowhead Brake/ Fluted Barrel.
- Mag: Flared Magwell/ Tactical Mag/ Appended Mag.

You do get a large selection of magazines to choose from, but the best ones for the gun are listed above. Go for the Flared Magwell for +16 Reload Speed and +6 Range, or the Tactical Mag for almost the same stats as the Flared Magwell with additional +2 Magazine. If you are more focused on extra magazine slots, then the Appended Mag offers +3 Magazine with just a +2 Reload Speed.
Next, since we need this weapon for PvE, the Bewildering Burst or Lead from Light are the best perks to use in Slot 1. Lead from Light will create a special Ammo counter if you have picked up the Orb of Power and used it as a final blow. Bewildering Burst creates a Kinetic blast if you reload and shoot after defeating a target.

Hammer Forged Rifling increases Range by +12, while Arrowhead Brake offers increased Recoil and Handling, perfect to keep your weapon steady. Accurized Rounds further increases range by +12, but you could switch that with Steady Rounds for +16 Stability.
We are not going to mess around a lot when it comes to selecting Perks, so we have fixed Lone Wolf for Perk 1 and Target Lock for Perk 2. Lone Wolf increases ADS speed, aim assist, and airborne effectiveness while playing solo, while Target Lock increases damage output the longer the weapon locks on a target.
Again, we have included Range in Masterworks, but you could switch that out for something else, depending on what you require the most. Search Party will go well with Lone Wolf, as you get increased ADS speed again, as well as increased movement speed while solo.
How to Get the Gunburn in Destiny 2
The Gunburn is part of the current Festival of the Lost 2025 event, and there are a few ways to get it. As you play the event, partake in activities that have a chance to drop Eerie Engrams. There is a random chance of obtaining the Gunburn this way.
