Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core – Best Enhancements to Get First

Enhancements are one of the many ways to empower your Reclaimer as you climb the ranks in. But which are the best Enhancements to get in Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core?

We’ll be going over which Enhancements are the best to nab early in your playthrough, ensuring the best bang for your buck as you find your footing. Once you’ve got your class selected, let’s start browsing!

    What Are Enhancements?

Acting as your primary means of permanent power, Enhancements are perks you can buy with chips earned by completing overarching objectives throughout Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core.

Enhancements are unlocked via the Enhancement Tree, found in the central lobby of the Hub. Every class has slots that can be unlocked with the blue currency earned through missions. Once you have a slot unlocked, you can equip any Enhancement you’ve earned to it.

Enhancements come in tiers, with extra power based on the tier of upgrade. For today’s topic, we’ll be focusing on some powerful picks within tiers 1 and 2 that are most effective, especially when you’re new to Hoxxes IV.

    The Best Early Enhancements

Enhancements provide a wide range of upgrades, but some standout as especially powerful in the early descents. These strong picks include…

    Healthy

Simple and effective, Healthy simply grants your class 25 bonus base health. While this may not sound crazy, its hard to overstate just how quickly you can get chunked in Rogue Core. More HP means more mistakes, and a bigger window to recover from said mistakes.

One of the very first Enhancements on offer, its never a bad idea to use one of your 8 slots for Healthy. It’s upgrades simply increase the base health increase, and as such are just as good, even as more exotic offerings start to show up.

    Sweet Tooth

Building off of just how important survival is in Rogue Core, Sweet Tooth makes all heals from Red Sugar better!

This includes the natural Red Sugar deposits that spawn throughout facilities, as well as the Red Sugar spawned by certain REPD perks. This makes your primary source of healing better across the board by a whopping 20% at level 1.

This combos wonderfully with Healthy, giving you so much more breathing room if you get caught, ambushed, or just suffer a nasty fall. If Healthy is being able to take a punch, Sweet Tooth is you catching your second wind.

    Technical Reload

The entire gameplay loop of horde shooters like Rogue Core centers around minimizing your downtime. Natually, reloading is the most ocmmon source of that downtime, so lowering those pauses in your offense is crucial.

Enter Technical Reload, an Enhancement speeds up all reloading and weapon cooling animations by 5%. The number sounds small, but it’s so noticeable in the heat of the moment, and those precious moments can be the difference between life and death.

Only a few nodes down the left side of the Enhancement Tree, Technical Reload can easily be the make-or-break when you find yourself in particularly scary fights. Building towards it early will allow earlier access to its even better upgrades as well. It’s all about smart investments after all!
