Best Gear For The Cave Troll In Dark and Darker
Cave Troll in Dark and Darker is one of those bosses in video games that one-shots you no matter what armor you’re wearing. That’s why it’s best to go in without any equipment at all. This will keep your weight low and movement speed high. Ideally, you want to equip a boot and maybe an armor piece that further boosts your movement speed.
For your weapon, go with whatever gives you the highest damage. This fight is all about finesse, and the better you dodge around the boss, the faster you can take it down.
How To Defeat The Cave Troll In Dark and Darker
The key to defeating the Cave Troll in Dark and Darker is learning his attack patterns and figuring out how to dodge them. This boss has five different attacks that you need to know about:
Regular Attack
There are a couple of different ways to avoid the Cave Troll’s regular attack. If you’re a Fighter, use a shield to block the damage. You can also dodge the move by crouching under him, but it might be a bit difficult to pull off. If you’re a Ranged class in Dark and Darker, you can simply walk away and keep your distance so as not to take any damage from the boss’s regular attacks.
Roar
At one point, the Cave Troll will scream at you, and you’ll see a white shockwave coming out of its mouth. It’s a deadly move for sure, but if you manage to keep to the side, you’ll be able to dodge it pretty easily. On top of that, this gives you a window to go in with a couple of hits.
Low Swing
For his Low Swing attack, you want to use a shield to block the damage. Staying on the left side of the boss makes it easier for you to block it. Alternatively, you can jump over it. However, since the attack move is difficult to identify, using a shield is the safer approach.
High Swing
Similar to the boss’s Low Swing, you can use a shield and stay on the left side of the boss to avoid taking damage from the High Swing. Alternatively, you can crouch down and look down to dodge this move if you don’t have a shield equipped.
Ground Shake
When the Cave Troll holds his mace with two hands, it’s about to do the Ground Shake move. At this point, you want to press X to start running and get some distance between you and the boss. Staying around 3 to 4 meters away from the boss keeps you safe from this attack.
