Things in Crimson Desert are seldom as simple as they would seem, and stealing is a familiar struggle. The game doesn’t let you steal items outright, having you don a specific form of attire in order to be able to commit the act.
If you’re wondering how to steal goods and more in the game, you’ve come to the right place.
How To Steal Items In Crimson Desert

To steal items, you will need a mask. Equipping the mask unlocks being able to commit criminal activities. It’s a weird system, and takes a while to get used to. Finding a mask is a lot more work though, requiring players to raid certain bandit camps.
You’ll have to try your luck here. Your best chance to find one are the Bandit camps across the continent of Pywel, so go into any settlement and start hunting for brutes. Once you take out the tougher enemies, stand by and loot their corpses for a chance to get the mask. You’ll now want to head into your Inventory and quickly equip the mask.
With the mask equipped, It’s now time for some criminal activity. Walk up to any storehouse, focus on the equipment and press the A key to steal it when prompted to do so.

Of course, stealing comes with its own set of consequences as well. If you steal an item, the locals around the area will begin searching for you. You must escape from the marked area before any witnesses notice you, ideally speaking.
The area will be marked with a red outline in game and on the HUD, so pay close attention while you try to flee.
Assuming you fail to not be seen, a bounty will be placed on your head. Assuming its high enough, it might even make guards chase you down, making stealing a tad bit trickier to pull off in Crimson Desert.
If you’re caught you will be thrown in jail, and set free once you serve your sentence. This should also clear all bounties attached to you. Other than the time wasted within jail, there doesn’t really seem to be much of a penalty (other than the fact that you lose both the mask and the stolen item), so feel free to try it out.
Personally speaking, stealing was a breeze as long I could get away with it. My first attempt involved picking up a sack of flour and trying to make away with it. Unfortunately, I did manage to bump into some NPCs along the way, and I was promptly escorted to jail, from where I was let go after spending some time.
Again, I’ll reiterate that getting caught would remove the mask from my inventory, which made it a bit tedious to go through again.
