Code Vein 2 features some enemies that are tougher than normal, but aren’t quite at the level of being bosses, making them close to elites that you might find in other games. Forma Beasts fit in this frustrating middle-ground.
Forma Beasts roam around the Sunken City mostly. If you really want to find and defeat one, you can follow the shoreline to the east when you cross the bridge from MagMell Island. You’ll find one roaming there a bit past Jadwiga’s Minion’s location.
Fighting Forma Beasts
Forma Beasts deal a lot of damage and have high defense, meaning your own attacks feel like they deal barely any damage. Your best bet is to dodge as much as you can and make attacking secondary, because it won’t take many hits to drain your health, although that can vary depending on your level and build.
Plus, your best moment to attack is when the beast’s shell is open and you see the cat that’s inside for some reason. You deal more damage to the inside than to the shell, so you want to stay at a bit of a middle distance to get the shell to open. Then, rush in and attack it.

Forma Beasts have two types of attacks. When you’re standing farther away, it uses ranged attacks. This is important because it opens its shell to use ranged attacks, and that lets you attack its weakness. It tends to barrage you with ranged attacks, so you need to either dodge to close the distance, or use your own ranged attacks after dodging.

It’s the melee attacks that are terrible to deal with. When you’re close enough, the Forma Beast will spit down a bunch of fire. Then, it spins and moves in a line towards you, which deals a lot of damage when you get hit by its legs. Its shell stays closed here, so you don’t get a chance to deal much damage.
Forma Beast Rewards
You don’t have to fight Forma Beasts. You could just go around them instead, and they’ll stop chasing you after you move out of their area. However, you might find that you want to hunt down Forma Beasts because they drop Forma Beast Gear, a material used for upgrades, that help in boss fights like Franz the Dejected Assailant, Putrid Darkborn, and several others. That means you probably won’t want to avoid these annoying beasts.

When you need to farm them, the location on the map above is ideal. There’s a Mistle not that far away, so you can kill the best, go to the Mistle to reset it, and kill it again. If you have to farm Forma Beasts, you might as well be efficient about it in Code Vein 2.
