Clive Barker’s Hellraiser Revival: How To Beat The Embracer

Hellraiser Revival has a number of bosses that you’ll need to beat if you want to take down Sunny, and a lot of them have gimmicks that can make the fight very easy if you know what you’re doing, but a nightmare if you can’t quite figure it out.

The Embracer is one such boss, as their huge armored frame is capable of eating away at your ammo reserves and leaving you at the mercy of this mass of guts and sinew. So, here’s how to take them down and make your way onward towards Marlowe.

The Embracer Location & How To Prepare

This boss is located in Marlowe’s club and can be found in the lower levels. But, to access this area you’ll need to do a handful of things first. You’ll initially need to defeat some enemies to get your hands on the Snake Key, which you will then need to use to get the Voyeur Ticket that unlocks the lower levels of the club.

Then, once you’re down there an exit will get blocked with chains, and if you approach the mass of mutilated muscle, it will come to life, beginning the fight.

To prepare, we would suggest you have your shotgun some shotgun bullets ready, as they are super helpful in this fight, and I would also suggest a powerful melee weapon if you have one. These are the two most effective ways to blow off this enemies arms.

    How To Defeat The Embracer

As mentioned, the key to this fight is focusing on the boss’s weak points. The Embracer’s body and head are protected by metal armor, which in my experience, simply couldn’t be broken even after exhausting all resources.

The gimmick here is that you need to slice off all the enemy’s arms to take them down. The Shotgun is your best bet here from close range, as it’s a melee weapon to slice them off. However, you need to be wary of their attacks, especially when they have all their arms and are at their most powerful.

They will lunge at you and perform attacks that will knock you down, which are best avoided with a well-timed evade. Then you also have a spit attack that will blind you.  This spew won’t clear on it’s own, so run to the furthest corner from the boss and take a moment to clear this off your face.

Once you shoot off all of their limbs, they will glow blue and you can take them down once and for all. This will allow you to progress on, and you’ll also be able to loot a Labyrinth Remnant from this boss which can be sold for a neat profit.

Note: You will fight another boss like this later in this area, but you will have your Hell chains ability by then, which will make the fight significantly easier.
