Cairn: How to Make an Alcoholic Cocktail (Red Rope Club Trophy)

Trophy and achievement hunting isn’t one of the things I personally go out of my way to do, but when it’s an easy one to snag, you know I’m all over it. A good chunk of the achievements you can get in Cairn are pretty easy, but a good portion also require you to find things while on your climb, like the Red Rope Club trophy.

This achievement asks you to make some sort of alcoholic beverage while scaling the tallest mountain of your career. Honestly, just looking at that thing would probably drive me to drink too.

After figuring out what sort of concoction is needed to actually make alcohol, I can share it with you so you can grab the same trophy for yourself.

    Where to Find Alcohol

Alcohol is actually pretty easily found around the mountain. However, because of the heavy conversation on littering, just about anything found in bottles can only be found in barrels, abandoned tents, or bear-proof boxes.

Fortunately, as you scour the cliff faces, searching for caves, critters, and a way out, you’ll come across an abundance of these. Personally, when I got the actual achievement, I had just located the first Troglodyte Piston you can find.

When you’re on the path toward searching for the Troglodyte Doll, you’ll come across a climbing path that leads to a dome-shaped entrance to a cave. The cave can be reached via a glowing green path that will take you directly to its mouth.

Once inside, you can make your way to a Troglodyte statue standing in the center of a golden room, where you’ll be able to pick up the Troglodyte Amulet Keepsake. In this very same room, you can also locate a few barrels. One of them had a questionably colored bottle of Booze inside.

Now that you’ve got the booze, it’s time to make an alcoholic drink! However, you’ll have to head back to your tent first so you can get the ingredients laid out and properly mixed together.

To make alcohol, you’ll need to mix any alcohol that you find with another ingredient. Fortunately, the way that Cairn works, you can put just about anything together, and some kind of food or drink will come out.

In this particular instance, all I had on me besides the alcohol were some raspberries, which I mixed together to make a Sangria! There are only two ingredients that can be used at a time, so as long as one of them is some kind of alcohol, you’ll always create an alcoholic beverage.

What’s even better is that once it’s been brewed up, you’ll immediately get the Red Rope Club achievement.

    What Does Alcohol Do?

In Cairn, alcohol can give you all sorts of buffs and status effects for making the climb to the top of Kami a little easier on Aava. For starters, it does lessen your overall health and thirst. Remember, you aren’t exactly hydrating yourself.

You will also get four minutes of both Grit and Temperature. Grit essentially gives you the ability to withstand the climb a little more than usual. When paired with chalk, this is perfect for much harder routes and difficult passages. As for temperature, you’ll be a lot warmer for those four minutes while you scale the mountain and gain altitude.

You’ll also be able to fill out your cold meter a bit. This is especially useful as you make your way higher and higher, and the cold becomes a bit more unbearable.
