Fans of RuneScape would probably enjoy Brighter Shores, as it brings in tons of nostalgic elements from the point-and-click genre. What sets Brighter Shores apart is the number of professions one can pick while playing the game. With each Episode you unlock, you can pick up new professions and level them up to get stronger. Once you reach Crenopolis, you can unlock the Detective profession which comes with it’s own unique abilities.
One of the spells you can unlock under this profession is the Detect Aura spell, which helps you detect the magical aura of anyone nearby. In this guide have put up how to unlock the Detect Aura spell in Brighter Shores.
How to Unlock Detect Aura Spell in Brighter Shores
You can collect the Detect Aura spell from Gallabast the Ragged in Ratmore Rise. Head down the staircase to find him. Speak to him, then he will hand over the spell to you to use. However, you can only do this once you have leveled up your Detective skill to 46. This does take some doing, and so we have a short note below on how to go about it in the most efficient manner.
How To Level Up The Detective Profession In Brighter Shores
Start off by talking to Sergeant Fowler, located in the Guardhouse Lobby of Crenopolis. While talking to him, you get the objective to catch thieves who are trying to steal from the various stalls around the town. You can earn XP and money till you are leveled up enough to start working on the Crime Den Raids. This will further level up your Detective and Watchperson skills.
Finally, at level 10, you can pick up Bounties from the Investigation Hall. Keep picking up Bounties and leveling up your Detective to level 43 to unlock the Wanted Posters feature. You can find the first Wanted Poster board in Lord’s Road East. Completing the objective will help you earn XP. You can keep track of all your active posters in your Ventures tab. Keep doing this till you reach Detective Level 46.
How Does Detect Aura Work in Brighter Shores
Once you activate the Detect Aura spell, you will notice the people around you will have varying colors of aura. You can use this knowledge to figure out whether the person you are investigating is innocent or not. To use this spell efficiently, head over to the Investigation Hall and you will see an upgraded version of Bounties now available. While investigating the objectives of the Bounty, you can use the Detect Aura spell to find and investigate items to aid you in your quest.
After gathering all the suspects and clues, head over to the investigation hall to find out the true culprit. You can use the clues you have gathered and the Detect Aura spell to find out who you should capture. There are different types of aura around different people, and they will each tell you something different about the person you are investigating. Below are all the Auras you can detect and what they mean.
Aura Type | Aura Name | Description |
Purple Stars | Mysticae | People with this aura can perform magic but are weak in combat. |
White Lines | Neutralae | No magic aura detected. |
Blue Circles | Receptacles | Can absorb large amounts of one type of magic. |
Black Skulls | Necromae | The worst aura, symbolism to decay and death. |
Now that you know how to read people just by looking at their aura, you can complete tougher investigations and even complete some of the higher-level quests in the main story. Speaking of quests, we have covered a couple of quests like locating all Giant Crystal items for the Nullify the Corruption quest in Brighter Shores, so you can check that out if you are stuck.
