In Brighter Shores, you can pick up quests early on that help you understand the game mechanics and also progress through the main story. There are a handful of quests in the game that, upon completion, will reward you with profession XP, some Silver, and other handy items. During the Nullify the Corruption quest, you need to locate three different items to help heal a Giant Crystal in Hopeforest. In this guide we have put up details on all Giant Crystal item locations in Brighter Shores.
Nullify The Corruption Quest: How To Prepare
You will come across the Nullify the Corruption quest as part of the main story quests when you unlock Episode 2. But before you can get going, you need to prepare yourself and get first, as there are tons of requirements for this quest.
- First things first, join a Faction. You unlock factions once you open the Magic Cave in Hopeforest.
- Secondly, unlock and upgrade the Woodcutter to level 8 and the Scout to level 20.
- Next, you purchase or craft 20 Healing Potions. You can craft the 1st level healing potion after reaching Alchemist level 2.
- Also, there are enemies you need to defeat to get certain items for the quest. It is best if you can increase the levels for Hopeforest to level 60 and have the total level up to 153.
- Craft 4*Coarse Ash Planks with Coarse Ash Log on the Circular Saw, or purchase them from the Timber Merchant.
- Finally, purchase a Jar from The Forager’s Warehouse or Timberwell Supplies.
All Giant Crystal Item Locations In Brighter Shores
With this list done, you are now ready to discover all the Giant Crystal item locations and heal the Giant Crystal: the Glowing Fern, the Glowing Honey and the Glowing Mushroom
Glowing Fern Location
The Glowing Fern is obtained on defeating a Giant Newt in the Hopeforest Ferry area. To reach that place, travel through Mine Road West to the east of Hopeforest, then head directly south. You will pass through the Tree Lined Trail and Tree Lined Track areas, and eventually reach Hopeforest Ferry. You will spot a boat at the Hopeforest Ferry, but the Ferryman will inform you that it can’t be used, since, well, there is a gaping hole in it. Good thing that we thought of bringing along the four Coarse Ash planks that we had crafted! Use them to fix the boat and then travel. However, there is one more surprise waiting for you.
A Mutant Newt will block your way, and you need to defeat it before you can continue. The Mutant Newt will slam down to deal damage, however, the good thing is that the tiles that are going to be impacted will be indicated early enough for you to avoid them. Get in a couple of hits after this slam attack and then prepare for his next one. The normal attacks only damage the ferry and not you. What you should be doing simultaneously, is repairing the boat whenever the Mutant Newt gets into the water. Repeat these steps till the beast is defeated, and you can venture across the water safely. Collect the Glowing Fern to get the first item for this quest.
Glowing Honey Location
There is another tough battle ahead before you can get the second item on the list. To collect Glowing Honey, make your way to Two-Headed Bear Clearing, north of Bear Clearing. You can find this location north of Hopeforest Central Portal, and after heading further north to Stump Clearing and turning left. Once you reach the Two-Headed Bear Clearing, you can attempt to pick up the Glowing Honey from the tree.
But this will start another fight, this time against the Giant Two-Headed Bear. We have a guide covering how to defeat the Giant Two Headed Bear in Brighter Shores. After defeating the bear, collect the Glowing Honey using the Jar and continue onwards to find the last item.
Glowing Mushroom Location
This one is quite easy and you don’t have to fight any creatures to get Glowing Mushrooms. Make your way to Crystal Clearing and visit the Mushroom Grove south of Bramble Path and west of Overgrown Trail. You can clear the brambles blocking your path if your Woodcutting skills are at level 8. Enter the Grove and collect Glowing Mushrooms, then head back to the Giant Crystal to cure it.
