Players have compared Brighter Shores to RuneScape because of the point-and-click RPG elements in both games. And Brighter Shores does offer more in terms of game features and mechanics. There is a lot to learn about the town of Hopeport and beyond, and along the way you can pick up new jobs and explore new quests to unlock new features to make your life easier. As you keep venturing out of Hopeport, you will soon reach the next area, which is Hopeforest.
There are tons of unknown creatures lurking in the depths, and one of them happens to be a two-headed bear. This creature is the level’s boss, and defeating it will unlock a new area. In this guide we have all the details on how to defeat the giant two-headed bear in Brighter Shores.
Giant Two-Headed Bear Location In Brighter Shores
You have to make your way over to the Two-Headed Bear Clearing located northwest of the Hopeforest region to find the creature. You will get to know about this boss while completing the main story quest about purifying a Giant Crystal from corruption. One of the items you require for the quest is the Glowing Bee Hive, which is guarded by this Giant Two-Headed Bear. The clearing is just north of Bear Clearing. You should pick a faction first before you can get ahead in the quest line and venture out here.
How To Beat The Giant Two-Headed Bear In Brighter Shores
The Giant Two-Headed Bear is a level 20 enemy, so make sure to upgrade your gear and character before you pick this fight. The bear also attacks using Fire and is immune to Fire damage. Cryo or Ice damage works very well for this fight, but you can also use other elemental attacks (except fire) to bring the bear down. It is a good idea to level up your Alchemist skill to level 2, and craft some basic healing potions before the fight.
Now that you are prepared, interact with the bear and choose to attack it. Its main attack, besides lunging at you, is to deal a Ground Slam. This attack can be deadly and lower your health significantly. You have to time your hits before, and just after the Ground Slam. Thankfully the game gives indicators for us to pick the right time interval for this.
If you take a look at the bar above the HP bar of the bear, you will spot the Ground Slam attack being charged up. You will also get a marked indication on the ground that symbolizes how far the Ground Slam attack will reach.
While the Ground Slam attack is getting charged up, move in and land at least 2 hits before backing away. As soon as the Ground Slam meter is full, quickly walk away from the targeted area and wait out the attack. After the Ground Slam attack, quickly go in and get a few hits. Keep the above attack and dodge pattern consistent throughout the fight, and the two-headed bear will be down in no time!
Pro-Tip: It is best to corner the boss near the trees by hitting it to push the bear away. That way, the AoE of the Grand Slam will be lesser.
Hopeforest is filled with other tougher creatures as you keep exploring the depths of the forest. You might encounter the Titan Spider on your travels, and this can help unlock and start the Spider’s Nest quest in Brighter Shores.
