If you played Call of Duty 3 or Black Ops 6, you might remember the S.A.M. Trials as those quick challenges that handed out perks and bonuses. In Black Ops 7, they’ve been repackaged into T.E.D.D. Tasks. We have prepared a guide on how these new tasks work, what you need to do to complete them, and the rewards you can expect for taking them on.
How to start T.E.D.D. Tasks in BO7
Once you reach Round 9, T.E.D.D. Tasks start appearing at a marked landmark on your minimap with a HUD alert guiding you to their location. Locate the giant zombie head marked T.E.D.D. Tasks and interact with them for 500 Essence to gain a task.
The machine will assign you a random task with an alert, “A T.E.D.D. Task Has Appeared.” Once started, a wave of zombies will start approaching you. You’ll have 2 minutes to complete your T.E.D.D. Task. Try to complete the task as quickly as possible, cause that improves your odds of getting better perks or rewards.
Some of the most common locations you can spot a T.E.D.D. Task are listed below:
- Vandorn Farm
- Zarya Cosmodrome
- Ashwood
- Blackwater Lake
- Janus Towers Plaza
- Exit 115
As for your rewards, they’ll be divided into three reward tiers based on rarity and how you perform the task. Once completed, the task spawns a golden reward chest at the location of the giant zombie head. These chests can contain equipment, tools, and even random perks.
Always do T.E.D.D. Tasks When They Appear
What makes T.E.D.D. Tasks even better from S.A.M. Trials is the new mystery perk system. This means you’re always guaranteed to have a Perk you don’t already own. Unlike BO6’s S.A.M. Trials, where you could pull a perk you already had and waste the reward, T.E.D.D. Task perks will always roll something new. This makes doing these tasks genuinely useful.
These are also a way to get a permanent perk unlocked. If you have unlocked all Perk-A-Colas, and if you complete a T.E.D.D. Task that appears after that with max rank, you will then get a permanent perk unlocked. What this means is that once that particular perk has been unlocked permanently, even when you die and start a fresh round, or get revived, that permanent perk always stays with you.
