On your journey as the Destined One in Black Myth: Wukong, you’ll face many enemies and bosses that inflict different status effects. There are a total of four status effects in the game, and together, they are called the Four Banes. While the status ailments are certainly deadly, getting rid of them is pretty easy once you know how.

In this guide, we’ll tell you all there’s to know about the Four Banes, along with how they work and how to cure them in Black Myth: Wukong. Let’s get started.

Four Bane Effects And How To Cure Them In Black Myth Wukong

The Four Banes in Black Myth: Wukong refers to the status effects of Burn, Chill, Poison, and Shock. Here’s everything you need to know about these status effects:

    Burn

You’ll encounter the Burn Status effect pretty early in Black Myth: Wukong. In fact, the Black Wind King boss in Chapter 1 has an attack to inflict this specific Bane if you’re not careful. Other than that, you’ll also face ranged enemies that shoot fire arrows that build up this status effect.

    • How to cure: When you get affected by Burn, you’ll suffer huge damage over time. Thankfully, this is one of the easier Banes to get rid of. Simply roll around the floor multiple times, and the fire will be put out.

    Chill

The chill effect is extremely deadly, but since you won’t face it until much later. Similar to the Burn effect, Chill will cause damage over time effect. However, unlike Burn, rolling on the floor has no effect.

    • How to cure Chill: To cure Chill, you need to use Body-Warming Powder or rest at the Keeper’s Shrine.

    Poison

Poison is another early Bane that you’ll face in Black Myth: Wukong. When it builds up, and you get affected, you’ll notice a thick green mist around the Destined One. What makes Poison tricky is that since the damage per second is low, most people won’t even notice it at first.

    • How to Cure: To cure Poison, you’ll need to use Antimiasma Powder.

    Shock

Boosse and Elites in Black Myth: Wukong will often inflict shock status effects from their attacks. When inflicted with shock, you’ll take more damage than normal, which means that when facing bosses, one single hit will eat a big chunk of your HP. That’s why removing it is a top priority in fights.

    • How to Cure: To cure Shock effect, you’ll need to use Shock-Quelling Powder.

    Bane Mitigation: How it Works?

In Black Myth: Wukong, players can invest Sparks in the Self-Advancement menu to level up their Bane Mitigation. With more points in the skill, the duration of these status effects will decrease. However, since you can get rid of these Bane effects with consumables, it’s best to focus on other important skills in the tree first.
