Dark and Darker is not for the faint of heart, requiring a combination of teamwork, strategy, and individual skill to overcome the different obstacles that the game throws your way. The Ranger is one of the nine classes that you can pick in the game. It’s a DPS-focused class that uses ranged weapons to dish out massive damage from a distance.

In this guide, we’ll showcase the best Ranger build in Dark and Darker that you can take for a spin. Let’s get started!

Best Dark and Darker Ranger Build

Here’s a guide to the best Ranger build in Dark and Darker, including perks, skills, equipment and playstyle:

    Best Ranger Perks

Perks are passive abilities that you must unlock to boost your Ranger’s overall performance in the game. Here are the perks we recommend picking up:

    • Nimble Hands: This perk improves your draw speed by 15% when you’re using a bow. Because of its faster animation, you’ll be able to get more damage both in PVE and PVP.
    • Sharpshooter: Increases your Physical Headshot Hit Location Bonus by 15% when using a bow or crossbow. It’s another excellent perk that will further increase your ranged damage output.
    • Kinesthesia: Increases your movement speed by 10% when drawing the bow. Bonus movement speed never hurts in Dark and Darker.
    • Ranged Weapons Mastery: Gain a bonus of 5% Physical Power when using a bow or crossbow. Combined with Sharpshooter, that’s around 20% damage boost without doing anything.

    Best Ranger Skills

The Ranger class in Dark and Darker has eight different skills available, but you can only equip two at a time. Here are the ones that we recommend using:

    • Field Ration: Ranger is a glass cannon class that can’t tank too much damage. With Field Ration, you’ll get a quick heal in your inventory with three charges.
    • Quick Shot: This ability lets you fire a few arrows quickly. The number of arrows you fire depends on your bow time, with Survival Bow firing up to 4 arrows with Quick Shot.
    • Multishot: If you’re playing at a party and have a Cleric to help you out with healing, consider swapping out Field Ration for Multishot. This ability lets you fire 5 arrows at once in a cone, with each arrow dealing 100% damage.

    Best Ranger Gear and Equipment

Here are the best gears that you can get for the Ranger class in Dark and Darker:

    • Armor Set: The Ranger Set is by far the best gear set you can use on the Ranger class. It boosts both your movement speed and damage, both of which are essential stats for this class.
    • Weapon: As for your weapon, we recommend going with the Longbow. Combined with your skills and perks, this weapon will help you dish out the most damage.

Gameplay Tips for Ranger in Dark and Darker

Now that we’ve covered all the bases, here are a few essential tips to keep in mind when you’re playing as the Ranger in Dark and Darker:

    • Movement speed is arguably the most important stat for Ranger, whether you’re in PVE or PVP. Your goal is to always disengage from melee range, take a shot using your bow, reposition, and stay as far away as possible.
    • If you’re playing solo, consider investing in picking up the Trap Mastery perk to lay down traps faster.
    • When playing in a party, make sure you don’t hit your allies. The last thing you’d want is to shoot an arrow in the back of your Fighter’s head.
    • When you’re playing solo, shadows are your best friend. Remove torches and try to get headshots on enemies to take them down in one hit.

That’s all for this guide. Make sure you check out our other articles for the game, which include Best Cleric Build and How To Unlock Squire Items.
