When you are starting in RuneScape Dragonwilds, you are only allowed to chop Ash Trees to get Ash Logs for the crafting scene. But as you advance in the game and get better gear and unlock more crafting necessities, you will need a higher variety of the same ingredient. Here we will look at everything you need to know about Oak Trees in RuneScape Dragonwilds.
Finding Oak Trees In RuneScape Dragonwilds

Oak Trees are seen as a more durable and sturdier version of Ash Trees. Since the crafting scene in later stages will ask for Oak Logs to continue, we will need to stock up on as many Oak Logs as possible for smoother sailing.
Oak Tree Appearance: When it comes to the appearance, Oak Trees will have a darker bark compared to the usual Ash Trees in the RuneScape Dragonwilds. Another visual cue would be the color of the leaves. Spotting these two factors on any tree in the game will help you spot the Oak Trees in the game.
Oak Tree Locations: Most of the time, you will find the Oak Trees while climbing a hill or spotting them in the wild by picking up the cues. You will also find a good number of Oak Trees around the Wise Old Man (NPC) location. The respawn rate here is random; waiting for a few days will be enough for the game to regrow all the trees.
Note: Some people have claimed that removing the Tree Stumps speeds up the respawn process, but there is no factual data supporting it.
Axe for Chopping an Oak Tree: An Oak tree can only be chopped down by using a Bronze Logging Axe. Here are the crafting resource requirements for the axe:
- Bronze Bar x5
- Ash Logs x4
- Coarse Thread x2
Another requirement for Oak Tree chopping would be the Woodcutting level. You can find more about leveling up the Woodcutting skill in RuneScape Dragonwilds.
