Dragon Quest 3 Remake takes you on a nostalgic trip, but with a few new twists and items that you haven’t seen before. While the questlines are pretty simple, by the time you approach end game, it does make sense to think and work towards an end game build. If you are looking for some tips on the best build for late game, you have come to the right place. In this guide we have put up the best late game build in Dragon Quest 3 Remake.

Dragon Quest 3 Remake Late Game Build Guide

We have focused on party arrangements, equipment, and lineup to tackle the late game bosses in Dragon Quest 3 Remake. Let’s break down the build setup to make things easier.

    Best Late Game Party Setup

    Hero: Vamp

For the party, we are going for the Hero with the Vamp personality as our starting member. The reason why we pick this vocation is that this is the only one with the Omniheal ability, which can heal all party members. So, besides being a DPS, the Hero can also be a support member during times of need. In case you have The Eureka Moment book, you can change the Hero’s personality to Genius instead. This will increase the MP pool of the Hero, helping you last longer in a fight.

    Best Equipment:

    • Sword of Kings
    • Orochi’s Sword
    • Hero’s Shield
    • Auroral Helm and Armor
    • Banishing Bell
    • Mercury’s Bandana
    • Sphere of Light

    Martial Artist: Paragon

As for the main DPS, we have gone for the Martial Artist with the Paragon personality. Work on the Martial Artist till you can unlock the Sword Dance skill. This ability is a great skill to learn for a large AoE attack, but it unlocks only after level 37. Once you have that down, change your vocation from Martial Artist to Monster Wrangler.

Under the main accessory, select the Garter and change the personality to Vamp. Use this build to capture 50 monsters and unlock the Wild Side skill. With this skill, you can act twice per turn. Now that you have Sword Dance and Wild Side unlocked, you can switch back to the Martial Artist with Paragon personality. You now have a heavy-duty DPS that deals high damage attacks for longer.

    Best Equipment:

    • Destructiball
    • Tempest Shield
    • Silver Tiara
    • Dragon Dojo Duds
    • Banishing Bell
    • Elevating Shoes
    • Dragonsbane Claws
    • Dragon Claws

    Thief: Bat Out Of Hell

Like the Martial Artist, you need to work on the Thief first before it is fit for the end game. Start with the Thief and the Bat Out Of Hell personality. Work on it till you unlock the Snoop skill at level 20, which will help you find treasure. Switch this out with the Gadabout and equip Hen’s Tooth to get the Lucky Devil personality. At level 31, you can learn Egg On, which increases an ally’s attack for one turn.

Once you have that, switch to Sage with the Garter accessory to get the Vamp personality; or you can switch to the Genius personality instead with the Eureka Moment book. Work on this build till you learn all the spells under this vocation. You can now finally switch back to the Thief before hitting the end game boss and they will work as a secondary support plus DPS.

    Best Equipment:

    • Gusterang
    • Dragon Shield
    • Phantom Mask
    • Agility Gilet
    • Banishing Bell
    • Mercury’s Bandana

    Priest: Vamp/ Genius

Start with the Priest vocation, then switch to the Thief when you get the option to do that. Once you have the Thief, use Mercury Bandana to get the Bat out of Hell personality. Grind this class till level 30+ to unlock the starting set of skills. After that, switch to Sage with the Words of Wisdom accessory. Use the Vamp personality here for the time being. Grind to unlock all spells, then switch back to Priest for the end game. You now have a powerful healer and support system to make use of during late game.

    Best Equipment:

    • Somatic Staff
    • Goddess Shield
    • Duplic Hat
    • Shimmering Dress/ Blessed Bikini
    • Banishing Bell
    • Meteorite Bracer

    Best Party Lineup

    1. Hero
    2. Martial Artist
    3. Priest
    4. Thief

    Why This Lineup Works

You get a well-rounded party if you work with the above lineup. It has a bit of everything, some DPS, some Support, and a mix of both. We are trying to round up the party with all the best abilities and skills required for the end game, so this should take care of that. The Martial Artist’s Sword Dance is what will set your battle in motion, so don’t be afraid to spam it during most rounds. Follow that up with the Thief’s and Priest’s Oomph and Sap or Kasap spells, along with the Hero’s Orochi Sword.

After clearing the first round, you can use the Thief or Priest again with the Martial Artist, then complete the remaining rounds with the Martial Artist. You can also try switching out Sword Dance for Wild Side during the first round, then go for Attack in subsequent rounds with the Martial Artist. If you prefer Egg On for the Thief, you can perform it during the second round onwards.
