Space Marine 2 Heavy Class Overview
Sacrifice is the name of the game in the world of Warhammer 40k, When you decide to step into the land of Space Marine 2 as Heavy, you have to let go of your melee weapon. It’s all guns, all the time. If you are looking to climb the difficulty ladder to Ruthless or beyond, then you can invest your time in Heavy.
- Armor Class: 3
- Class Perk: Iron Halo
- Class Perk Description: Creates a barrier that blocks all ranged damage
- PvE or PvP: Good PvE and Good PvP
Space Marine 2 Best Heavy Class Perks
The Heavy build is a mixture of proper perks and Gun abilities to strike a hellish amount of damage to the long and medium-range enemies. Since everything here is geared toward Damage Dealing, the answer of just getting the heaviest gun is not enough, here you need to dig deeper into what works and what doesn’t.
Perks | Description |
Conversion Field | Squad Members within 100 meters get the ability recharged at 50% faster while the Iron Halo is active. |
Brute Force | When Iron Halo is in cooldown, ranged damage increases by 15% |
Power Regulator | The Energy Loss of Iron Halo is set to 15% more slowly . |
Consecutive Execution | Killing 15 enemies in a row will restore Equipment Charge by 1, cooldown set to 180 seconds. |
Additional Supplies | 25% Ammo Capacity for all Squad Members. |
Versatility | Switching to a different weapon makes your secondary weapon deal 20% more damage until reloading or switching back to the primary weapon. |
Fortitude | 20% Health Increase. |
Multi-kill | Kill 5 enemies with a single shot from Multi-Melta restores 1 ammo. |
The striking ability of Heavy is Iron Halo, it will save the game for many rounds. To make it work, the perk Power Regulator (Slower Iron Halo loss) fusion with Conversion Field (Recharge ability 50% faster) will be a life-savor.
While many players do put Obdurate Bastion (20% more Iron Halo Duration) instead of Power Regulator, in our gameplay, we experienced the Power Regulator to be far more beneficial, compared to the bonus you get with Obdurate Bastion.
If you are dealing with newbies in your playthrough, then you can switch off the Additional Supplies with Encompassing Aegis (20% less damage from ranged attack). But if you are tackling higher difficulties, we do recommend putting the Team Perk in the basket of Additional Supplies, more ammo never hurts.
Space Marine 2 Best Heavy Weapons
Since we are letting go of the melee weapon off our hands, we need to carry enough punches in the primary and secondary slots. The perks from the Class will affect the guns we choose for the operation. The perks for the gun will also be crucial for the damage dealing we are setting out to do in the game. Since Heavy is known for its range dealing, we need to make sure the team doesn’t get overwhelmed in the front.
Primary Weapons: Multi-Melta
Secondary Weapons: Plasma Pistol
Melee Weapons: Not Available
Best Multi-Melta Perks
The classic conundrum all gamers have is to pick the right weapon, even if the weapon we currently wield is bringing hellfire on the enemies. When it comes to Heavy, the discussion goes on either the side of Heavy Bolter or Multi-Melta. If you are planning to tackle the entire horde with ease, then Multi-Melta will sing the song you want, that is not to say Heavy Bolter is a bad choice. But once you pick up the Multi-Melta, its high damage will settle right in. So we decided to go with Multi-Melta over the Heavy Bolter.
- Increased Capacity: Raises Ammo Capacity to 20%.
- Elite Restoration: Killing Majories level enemy can restore 10% of max Ammo Capacity.
- Heavy Fire: Fire rate increased by 15% while in Heavy Stance.
- Heavy Immunity: Immune to lose control during Heavy Stance.
- Executioner’s Fire: 25% Fire rate increase for 5 seconds after a finisher.
- Heavy Might: 15% more damage during Heavy Stance.
- Chaos: 10% more damage against Chaos Enemies.
- Tyranid Eliminator: 10% more damage against Tyranids.
All the perk list of Multi-Melta carries, will help the gun to do an immense load of damage. Since as you can tell, almost all the perks are heading towards either damage or fire rate, perfectly suiting the Heavy character. Every shot out of the Multi-Melta will hit like a train, but you do need to switch around to conserve ammo.
Alternative Primary Gun:
You can always switch around the Multi-Melta with a Heavy Bolter and try out a different playing field for the Heavy run. For Heavy Bolter, you can run with a Perfect Cooling gun, Perfect Dodge, Fast Venting, and Perpetual Cooling to make the weapon work for Heavy.
Best Plasma Pistol Perks
The charge-fire ability sells the Plasma Pistol to many Space Marine 2 players. The close encounters could easily overwhelm anyone, here having a Plasma Pistol will act as a powerful shotgun blast. The weapon also works wonderfully, when used at a ranged distance. When it comes to, what kind, we are going out with Gathalamor Crusade because of the Venting aspect.
- Fast Venting: Weapons Cooldown 15% faster rate.
- Rampage: 25% more damage for 5 seconds after killing 10 enemies in a row (Cooldown 30 seconds).
- Plasma Collection: 20% Energy Reserve Boost for Plasma Weapons.
- Great Might: Increase damage by 10% against Terminus enemies.
- Supercharged Shot: Increasing the damage from changed shot by 10%.
- Efficient Charge: The Charge Shot consumes less energy by 2 bars.
- Perpetual Velocity: Shot Charges a 20% faster rate.
- Rapid Cooling: Killing 10 enemies in a row eliminates overheating for 5 seconds.
When it comes to being the best variant, always pick the one with more Venting Speed. The fire rate of the Plasma Pistol is correlated with the Venting Speed. Pay attention to any class with more Venting Speed., this will let you fire a Plasma Pistol without waiting for eternity. The secondary weapon carries an incredible amount of value to the Heavy, the Versatility Class perk of Heavy will be very helpful.
