Baldur’s Gate 3 has a lot of items that are great to have for your party, especially as you enter Act 3, where you have to deal with difficult areas to finish the questlines of your companions.
The Coruscation Ring is well-hidden in Act 2, but it gives the wearer extra spell damage while they’re illuminated by a light source, and inflicts Radiant Orb on their target for two turns, making it worth the effort to find.
Enter the Cellar of Last Light Inn
Make your way to Last Light Inn, then use the stairs outside to enter the cellar. From the viewpoint of the entrance, go into the cell on the left.
In the corner, there’s a door that’s a bit difficult to see if you aren’t looking for it. It’s covered by crates and a spiderweb. I just click and drag the crates out of the way, then use Firebolt to clear the spiderweb.
This takes you into a room that has a cracked wall. Here, you can just use melee attacks to break the wall. I find that Karlach and Lae’zel tend to do the most damage to walls with their attacks, but the wall doesn’t have much health so it’s easy enough to break.
The next room has a group of Meenlocks you need to kill. Depending on how early you go after the ring, the difficulty of this group varies. I went back after the Gauntlet of Shar in this save file, and it was easy enough to clear the enemies.
Find the Trapped Chest
After defeating the Meenlocks, you can explore the altar area for some loot, including a key. However, this isn’t where you find the Coruscation Ring.
Instead, you need to go to the right of the altar, where there’s a path into another area. I had a hard time seeing this path with the low lighting, but when I got close to it, the way the environment cuts away around your characters makes it easier to spot.
In this area, you’ll spot a large chest. If you pass the Perception Check when you get near it, you find that it’s trapped.
I had Astarion with me to disarm the trap, as I luckily passed the check to spot the trap. Then, the chest is locked, so I had Astarion lockpick it. Once it’s open, you find the Coruscation Ring inside.
