Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is a unique JRPG where you get to explore memories, collect rare items, and build bases for crafting. Having your own base is a crucial step in the game, which is where you can learn alchemy and craft related structures. Since base building is relatively new in the game, this guide will cover how to build a base and best base building tips in Atelier Yumia.

How To Get Bases In Atelier Yumia

When you first start playing Atelier Yumia, you will be assigned your first base at Atelier with some basic structures like the Energy Converter, a section to Synthesize, and a basic workbench. While this area is a great base for the start of the game, you will quickly realize that the lack of space can hinder your base building’s true potential.

To find yourself a proper base, you need to locate Manabound Areas, which are available in each region. After clearing these areas, you get a chance to build a base from scratch. Another way you can get a base is by completing the main story quests, but the chances of getting a base this way are rare. You can also locate makeshift campsites while exploring, but these don’t offer a full base-building experience and are better used as a temporary storage unit.

Comfort Level and Base Building Explained

The main takeaway from base building is improving Comfort Level. That means building a structure and adding decorations, like furniture, to make your base more pleasing. In return, you can claim mini rewards like blueprints if the Comfort Level is high. The best way to increase your Comfort Level is to place several beds and chairs around your base. You will quickly find that the happiness of the region’s population will increase as well as you improve this particular stat.

To start building a proper base, the only option you get at the start is the Free Build. This will give you an idea of the basic structures that you can create, by checking out the Catalog. It is best to pick out building structures from the catalog rather than picking it from the building hotbar, as you don’t waste resources this way. Each structure will require certain materials, which you can find in the overworld. While you can get building presets this way

Pioneer Efforts and Unlock New Structures

Once you are ready to move on from your first official base, you might want to unlock more building menu options by completing Pioneering Effort goals. Pioneering Efforts compile a list of tasks that you need to complete, and by doing so, you get to unlock new structures after reaching certain milestones. You get different goals based on different regions, and each of them will give you different rewards. The structures that you can unlock this way and its functions are:

    • Storehouse – Can be built to increase storage space. Unlocks after reaching 30% Pioneering Effort at Ligneus Region.
    • Greenhouse – Used as a base to duplicate raw materials. Available after completing 50% Pioneering Effort at Ligneus Region.
    • Manufacturing Plant – Helps duplicate non-gear and crafted items. Reaching 30% Pioneering Effort at Auruma Region will unlock this.
    • Mana Converter – Converts Energy into either Energy Prisms, Trait Crystals, or Particles, but will take a lot of time. Unlocks after reaching 30% Pioneering Effort in Lacuna Region.

Once you unlock more bases on the map, you can create one structure from the above list and place it on the empty plot. You can find these structures from the same Catalog section, and you can browse through the options to find out what sort of structure you would like to place.

Furthermore, each base location has a building cap that indicates how many structures you can build in one area. To increase the building cap, you need to increase the Pioneering Effort in the Lacuna Region by 70%.
