Doom: The Dark Ages brings skull-crushing weapons with deadly mods to customize your gun to your liking. Most weapons on the list can be tuned to your style of gameplay, having two sides to every gun is what makes Doom one of the best FPS games in the genre. Without further ado, here is the list of all weapons and Mods in Doom: The Dark Ages.

Complete List Of All Weapons & Mods In Doom: The Dark Ages

The checklist covers all melee weapons and ranged weapons available in Doom: The Dark Ages. We have also added the mods for each weapon (available) and how they influence the gun’s overall gameplay.

    Combat Shotgun

    Combat Shotgun Doom Dark Ages

    Unlocks: Chapter 1

Does a decent amount of damage at close quarters but falls flat compared to the Super Shotgun. The only saving grace of this gun is the mod list, you can make the Combat Shotgun lean towards more defense by choosing Smelt to get armor or Blast to cause an explosion upon the enemy’s death. The mod Flare-Up will help the burning process go more quickly.

    Mods:

    • Incendiary: Dealing too much damage will apply Burn status on enemies. Enemies with the Burn status effect will drop armor.
    • Smelt or Blast (One can be activated):
      • Smelt: Enemies with Burn status will drop more ammo.
      • Blast: Enemies with Burn status will explode on death.
    • Tune Up or Flare Up (One can be activated):
      • Tune Up: Combat shotgun will burst fire, three-round bullets at once.
      • Flare-Up: Combat Shotgun will instantly add Burn status to lesser demons.
    • Eat This!: Combat Shotgun will shoot out more projectiles per shot.

    Super Shotgun

    Super Shotgun Doom Dark Ages

Unlocks: Chapter 5, The Holy City of Aratum

The absolute blast from the first Doom to the Doom: The Dark Age, the Super Shotgun has always been the staple in the series. And its return to the latest Doom entry hasn’t nerfed any of its features. It does kick like a mule, and after the upgrade, it fires faster, deals more damage, a perfect go-to weapon for anyone who prefers to take the combat up close and personal.

    Mods:

    • Speed Loader: Super Shotgun shots will fire more quickly.
    • Shatter: Super Shotgun will blow away armor more quickly.
    • Eat This!: Super Shotgun will shoot out more projectiles per shot.

    Shredder

    Shredder Doom Dark Ages

Unlocks: Chapter 1, Village of Khalim

One of the best introductory guns in the Doom franchise, Shredder does what its name suggests, and when you add the proper mod, the gun becomes a great demon killer. We recommend you to go with Pincushion, as the latter mod supports the damage of the weapon and adds attacks to speed up detonation. The gun does offer some good crowd control options with the option of Ricochet, as shooting at Shield Saw on enemies will hit other enemies nearby.

    Mods:

    • Pincushion Or Ricochet:
      • Pincushion: Shooting with Shredder will apply the effect Pincushion. You can use the Parrying or Shield Throw ability to detonate enemies affected by the status. Since it is an explosive attack, the detonation effect will damage the enemies nearby.
      • Ricochet: It only works on a demon affected by a Sheid Saw. Throw the Shield Saw and shoot the demon with Shredder to hit the nearby enemies.
    • No Frills: Increase Shredder’s rate of fire.
    • Barbed: Barbed will raise the damage for Detonate and the Ricochet effect. In short, it gives a damage boost to both Pincushion and Ricochet. Barbed unlocks an ability to use Shield Charge to destroy enemies affected by Pincushion.

    Accelerator

    Accelerator Doom Dark Ages

    Unlocks: Chapter 2, Hebeth

Accelerator can be geared to long-term damage by adding a Modulator with Mega Cell. Both will allow the Accelerator to stay at the maximum charge for a long time, but you will sacrifice the accuracy. To land more precise shots, you can choose Stabilizer and mix it with Heatblast; this combo will drain the charge quickly, but the Heatblast’s deadly explosion will take care of most demons in the game. And you will also gain Accelerator amo from the demons.

    Mods:

    • Feedback: Gain charge for the Accelerator by shooting. The damage of the gun will increase once the Accelerator reaches maximum charge.
    • Stabilizer or Modulator:
      • Stabilizer: Here, you will have more control over the Accelerator to land focused shots on enemies.
      • Modulator: When you reach a maximum charge with the Accelerator, it will get a high rate of fire.
    • Heatblast or Mega Cell:
      • Heatblast: Releasing the Fire button at the maximum charge of Accelerator will create a Heatblast. It will take out nearby enemies. And you will get Accelerator ammo from dying enemies.
      • Mega Cell: Allow the Accelerator to lose charge slowly.
    • Overload: Gain Supercharge when you shoot a demon with Maximum Charged Accelerator. The Supercharge status on Accelerator will affect damage and other charge-related effects.

    Cycler

    Cycler Doom Dark Ages

Unlocks: Chapter 5, The Holy City of Aratum

Cycler is the best all-around weapon that is capable of handling common demons to energy shields. If you don’t want to pick and choose the best gun for combat, Cycler will be the best option for you. It does good damage against all types of enemies. The only thing you should be looking out for when you are using the Cycler is the ammo count; none of the mods gives you Cycler ammo.

    Mods:

    • Shock: Doing enough damage with Cycler will inflict the status Shock. Enemies with Shock status will take more damage. Upon death, the lightning will catch on to nearby enemies.

Note: Enemies with Shock status will take damage from all attacks, including other guns.

    • Amplify: The Cycler will deal increased damage to demons affected by Shock status.
    • Fulmination: Shock’s duration is increased, and the Cycler will generate more lightning arcs when the shocked enemy.
    • Overload: When you take down a demon with Shocked status, it will allow Cycler to build up more charge based on the size of the demon. Once it reaches maximum charge, the Cycler will deal more damage.

    Impaler

    Impaler Doom Dark Ages

    Unlocks: Chapter 4, Sentinel Barracks

A perfect weapon for anyone who is looking to land ranged, precise shots. As the damage from Impaler will take the demon’s head right off from the rest of its body. Making it excellent at cleaning out high-priority targets off the map before gunning down the rest. Many players roll with Salvage mod instead of Chrnospike because parrying the enemy gives out Impaler Ammo. The cycle of picking ammo and dropping powerful shots is the song of Impaler.

    Mods:

    • Stalwart: You can recover Impaler ammo by performing Shield Throw, Shield Charge, or just parrying a Hell Surge attack by any demon on the battlefield.
    • Salvage or Chronospike
      • Salvage: You will be able to empower your Impaler’s next shot by picking up Impaler ammo.
      • Chronospike: Add the function of slowing down time by holding down the Shoot button. Being in slow motion will make the shot more accurate. Impaler’s projectile will also deal more damage during the slow motion.
    • Lobotomy: A portion of the melee charge will get restored after landing a proper headshot with the Impaler.

    Pulverizer

    Pulverizer Doom Dark Ages

    Unlocks: Chapter 4, Sentinel Barracks

A great weapon to go against the lesser demons roaming the field. Pulverizer might not be effective against shielded demons or large enemies. But it is very effective against close encounters with small-time enemies. Pulverizer stands out when it comes to its appearance and spread out fire shots, and perfect for anyone who wants to bring the fight to the demon’s face.

    Mods:

    • Flay: It will allow the gun to fire more projectiles, covering a wider area of damage.
    • Runic Skull: Get a boost to the Pulverizer’s rate of fire and Maximum Charge when taking out a demon with the Pulverizer or Melee.
    • Runic Strike: You will not be able to maintain and build a charge by performing melee strikes against demons.

    Ravager

    Ravager Doom Dark Ages

Unlocks: Chapter 12, Sentinel Command Station

Here you can decide whether you prefer the slow build-up to Ravager’s increased rate of fire by installing the Slow Burn mod, or deal the same amount of rate of fire damage but with faster movement and build by installing Ignition. The choice is in your hands on what kind of experience you want from the Ravager. The highlight of the weapon is its healing capability, coming from the Vampirism mod. The more aggressive you are with the Ravager, the better the weapon will be in the game.

    Mods:

    • Vampirism: When you hit maximum fire rate with the Ravager, you will get health pickup from enemies.
    • Slow Burn or Ignition
      • Ignition: With Ignition enabled, Ravager will build up fire rate faster, and this mod also removes the movement penalty while firing.
      • Slow Burn: This mod allows the increase of the rate of fire, but the timer on the build-up will increase. You will also face more penalties while moving with the gun.
    • Supplier: You will receive Skullcrusher ammo from demons.

    Chainshot

    Chainshot Doom Dark Ages

    Unlocks: Chapter 6, Siege- Pt1

Chainshot is very effective against any demon with armor. The highlight of the weapon is its ranged attack. You can take care of the enemy’s armor at a range without getting close with the Super Shotgun. Chainshot also deals good damage against shielded enemies. Chainshot without its charge can feel a bit weaker; it only shines when it is charged to completion.

     Mods:

    • Eldritch Blessing: You can charge your next shot by parrying a Hell Surge attack. The process of charging the next shot happens instantly.
    • Gravitational Flux: When the Chainshot is at its maximum charge, it will deal higher damage against the enemy’s armor.
    • Cosmic Breach: The projectile from Chainshot will explode at maximum charge.

    Grenade Launcher

    Grenade Launcher Doom Dark Ages

    Unlocks: Chapter 8, Abyssal Forest

Adding all the mods will make the Grenade Launcher a top-tier AOE weapon in the game. Even if you don’t use the Shield Saw attack, landing the second or third hit will release a cluster of grenades, exploding the entire battlefield. The aim here is to cause as much AOE damage as humanly possible, and all the mods of the Grenade Launcher will help you accomplish it.

Note: Don’t try it up close, or you will receive damage from your own launcher ammo. Always try the launcher at mid-range or long distance.

    Mods:

    • Fragment: The third hit from the launcher will drop a cluster of greanders, dealing extra AOE damage on the battlefield.
    • Rupture: If you manage to land a direct hit with the Grenade Launcher against an enemy affected by the Shield Saw, then it will drop a cluster of grenades. Use the shield saw and then land a direct hit with the launcher and watch the area explode.
    • Cataclysm: Landing a second direct hit with the Grenade Launcher will launch a cluster of grenades.

    Rocket Launcher

    Rocket Launcher Doom Dark Ages

Unlocks: Chapter 10, The Forsaken Plains

The gun has been the staple of the Doom franchise, and it also shines in the latest entry. The customization options are what make the Rocket Launcher a deadly weapon, as the weakness of the launcher has always been the close-range damage upon firing. Now, with Cannibalism mixed with Blood Sacrifice, you can completely negate the damage. You also have the option to keep the weapon on the classic mod, taking minimal damage while firing more powerful shots after parrying.

    Mods:

    • Cannibalism: This mod allows you to fire the rocket up close without worrying about damaging your health. But it is only effective once you parry a Hell Surge attack. After a parry, the self-damage will start healing you.
    • Cooked or Blood Sacrifice:
      • Cooked: Parrying a projectile will strengthen your next shot from the Rocket Launcher.
      • Blood Sacrifice: As the title says, you will take in more self-damage in exchange for dealing higher splash damage against enemies from the rocket launcher projectiles.

Note: Blood Sacrifice will rip the benefits of Cannibalism, as you will take more self-damage from Blood Sacrifice, which can be canceled off by using a Hell Surge attack from the Cannibalism mod. You will receive twice as much health by combining Cannibalism with Blood Sacrifice.

    • Bloodlust: Extends Cannibalism for a long time.

    BFC

    BFC Doom Dark Ages

Unlocks: Chapter 14, Spire of Nerathul

Instead of BFG, Doom: The Dark Ages features BFC or Ballistic Force Crossbow. The weapon takes up half of the screen, and when you fire a shot, it will clear out almost all the enemies in the area. A hail mary weapon that is designed for destruction, that’s why you need to search for AMMO to feed the crossbow. The weapon doesn’t come with any mods, as it is enough on its own. The ammo is limited to only 3, so you must explore areas to find the ammo to feed this giant.

    List of Melee Weapon Unlocks:

    Power Gauntlet

    Power Gauntlet Doom Dark Ages

Unlocks: Chapter 1, Village of Khalim

Power Gauntlet will be your early melee weapon in the game, it hits hard and agile in its moves. The highlight of the weapon is the sheer damage it does to the enemies, the three-hit combo is a knockout. Each hit that gets landed on the enemy, the Power Gauntlet will increase its damage potential. You can also directly charge the gauntlet by parrying any Hell Surge attack.

    Mods:

    • Finisher: The third hit of the three-hit combo now will deal bonus damage.
    • Duelist: Get a charge boost after parrying a Hell Surge attack.
    • Jolt: The first hit of the Power Gauntlet now applies Shock status on enemies.
    • Encore: The three-hit power combo now has a fourth one. You must parry to earn the fourth combo for Power Gauntlet.

    Flail

    Flail Doom Dark Ages

    Unlocks: Chapter 6, Siege – Pt. 1

Flail takes the middle place when it comes to landing damage on the enemy. While it is more powerful compared to the Power Gauntlet, it falls apart when pitted against the Dreadface. This melee weapon is perfect against armored enemies. Here is the list of upgrades for the weapon.

    Mods:

    • Conditioning: Cuts the recovery time for the Flail charge.
    • Ignite: Burned enemies will now drop armor.
    • Resonant: More damage dealt against Shield and Armor. When you hit shields or armor, you will generate Armor shards.
    • Engulf: The splash damage from Flail will now burn and drop armor.

    Dreadmace

    Dreadmace Doom Dark Ages

Unlocks: Chapter 15, City of Ry’uul

It has one charge and hits like a train. The highlight of this weapon is the massive amount of splash damage it does on the battlefield. When you land a Splash attack from the Dreadmace, you will replenish all of your ammo. While it does take time to recharge Dreadmace, the game does offer the best way to make the recharge time faster. The absolute best way to cut on the charge time is by parrying Hell Surge attacks.

    Mods:

    • Reaper: Receive an additional Health drop from killed enemies.
    • Obliterator: Expands the AOE damage to more nearby enemies.
    • Riposte: When you parry a Hell Surge while your Dreadmace is at full charge, it will allow you to attack twice.
