Soulmask, the newly launched open-world survival MMO by CampFire Studio, has been slowly gaining traction ever since it went into early access. Set in a huge open wildland that draws heavy inspiration from ancient Aztec and Inca culture, this game lets you create your own civilization from scratch.
The prospect is pretty exciting, and while there are certainly some performance and server issues, the game is shaping up to be one of the big hits of 2024. One of the most exciting mechanics in the game is the ability to tame wild beasts and use them as mounts. In this article, we’ll explore all the mounts available in Soulmask and help you figure out how you can tame them. Wondering how you, too, can ride a jaguar or a panther? We’ve got you covered. Let’s get started.
All Soulmask Mounts and How to Get Them

There are a total of five animal mounts in Soulmask, and to get them, you need to increase your Awareness Strength levels and progress through the Knowledge and Technology tree. As you progress through the game and gain levels, you get the option to unlock Saddles for different mounts.
To tame a mount, you need to construct the saddle which will require some resources. The type of resources you need is different for each mount
Here’s how you can get each of the five mounts in Soulmask:
Alpaca and Llama Mounts

Alpaca and Llama are the first mounts you’ll unlock early on in the game. You need to be at Awareness Level 15 to make the saddle. Once you reach that point, go to the Leather Gear tree in the Dawn of the New Tribe section.
For Alpaca Saddles, you need 15x Leather, 10x Leather Ropes, and 10x Coarse Cotton.
For Llama Saddles, the required resources are 10 Leather Ropes, 15 Coarse Cotton, and 10 Thin Ropes.
Ostrich Mount

As you get midway through the game, you’ll unlock the ability to ride Ostriches. These are fast mounts that can help you traverse the map quickly. You’ll need to reach Awareness Level 36. Once you’re on the right level, go to the Iron Tree under the Glow of Iron Age section. From here, you can unlock the Ostrich Saddles.
The saddle requires 20x Premium Leather, 15x Fine Cotton, 10 Cotton Ropes, and 5x Iron Ingots. Though it’s a bit resource-heavy, at this point of the game, this is probably the best mount in terms of speed.
Panther Mount

You get the ability to unlock Panther mounts before Ostriches, but hunting and catching a Panther is harder. There are a couple of locations where they spawn, such as northwest of the Barbarian Barack or south of the Pyramid. So feel free to give it a shot if you want to ride a panther in Soulmask.
To unlock the mount, you need to reach Awareness Level 25, which you can find in the Bronze tree under Advancement of Bronze. The required resources are 20x Leather Ropes, 10x Fine Cotton, and Five Bronze Ingots.
Snow Leopard Mount

Snow Leopard is an end-game mount that requires you to reach an Awareness level of 51. Once you reach that point, head to the Steel Gear tab under the Steel Age section.
To craft the mount, you’ll need 20x Delicate Leather, 15x Smooth Cloth, 10x Cotton Ropes, and 5x Steel Ingots.
There you have it. These are all the mounts available in Soulmask, and now that you know how to unlock them, go out and hunt them down.
