In Stalker 2 you are stuck with the early game Echo Detector to detect anomalies, but as you keep exploring you can uncover a lot more. After the Echo Detector, you can collect the Hilka Detector, which is a step up from your last one. There are several ways to get the Hilka Detector, and in this guide, we have covered all ways to get the Hilka Detector in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
How To Get The Hilka Detector In Stalker 2
There are three ways to get the Hilka Detector: as part of the Mysterious Briefcase quest, as part of the Budmo side quest in Slag Heap, or by purchasing from a particular vendor. Let’s look at each of these one by one
Hilka Detector Location #1: Sultansk | The Mysterious Briefcase Quest
You can start the steps to collect the Hilka Detector once you reach Sultansk in Zaton. You can get here if you head east from Zalissya in the Lesser Zone and follow the path southeast. The Sultansk is a secret base where you can pick up quests from the leader inside. Head inside and talk to the bartender Sonya first. Ask her if she has got any jobs for you, and then head over and talk to Sultan.
You can ask him about any jobs, and he will tell you to retrieve a lost briefcase, which starts the Mysterious Case quest. The case is located in a cargo ship situated east to northeast of Sultansk. There is a large dock called Lviv near the shoreline, you can’t miss it. There is a lot of radiation and anomalies here, so watch your step while navigating toward the cargo ship.
Keep heading east while looking to the north for an open container. Walk through the container and you will be onboard the ship. Climb up the ladder on the west, go up the stairs, then unlock the hatch on the floor. Get down the hatch and explore the room to get the Hilka Detector and the briefcase for Sultan.
Hilka Detector Location #2: Slag Heap | Budmo Quest
The next area where you can pick up the Hilka Detector for free is after starting the Budmo side quest in Slag Heap, Garbage. Head over to the bar in Slag Heap and talk to the two drunks sitting in the corner. They need your help in depositing several vodka bottles in particular stashes around the area. There are three locations you need to visit and drop off the vodka bottles, but the stash location on the east is where you need to go to pick up the Hilka Detector.
So, you got to do just that. Head east till you come across a power transmission pylon next to a collapsed tree. There is a bird’s nest on the pylon where you must stash the vodka and find the detector. Get up on the tree trunk and jump across to the wooden board beside the tree to reach the nest and pick up the Hilka Detector inside, while leaving the vodka bottle behind.
Note: Picking up items from the stash will fail the mission, so the choice is yours to make here.
Hilka Detector Location #3: Rostok | Purchase from vendor
If you have some cash to spare and want to get the Hilka Detector fast and easy, you can visit the 100 Rads bar in Rostok. Talk to the barman to access his store and purchase the Hilka Detector. One of the stores in Yaniv also has the Hilka Detector in stock, and you can buy it for 3,600 coupons.
