Absolum is, hands down, one of the finest Beat Em Ups of all time, and considering the wealth of great retro and modern titles out there, that’s saying something. But, thanks to the addictive Roguelike setup, this game keeps you locked in.
Throughout your time with this one, you’ll likely naturally come across all the major bosses of the realm. But, there are a few more well hidden boss and secrets, and one of which is Mushtroll.
This boss is located in the Hidden Cave, but finding the path to Mushtroll is a little tricky. So, here is a helping hand so you can cross this boss off your list.
Where Is Mushtroll in Absolum?
Most folks will miss the path to Mushtroll, mainly because it’s right at the start of every single run you take on, meaning the path has always been there. You just didn’t know it existed.
When on the screen where you pick up your first ritual, head to the bottom right, and this will reveal a hidden path. Do a quick combo to break the boulder in your way, and voila, you’re on the path to Mushtroll.
You’ll need to fight a few waves of enemies along the way, but as soon as you clear out the enemies in the same area as the reward chest, Mushtroll will drop into view, and the boss fight will begin.
How To Beat Mushtroll
Honestly, unless you are right at the beginning of your Absolum journey, Mushtroll shouldn’t pose much of a threat to you, as they fight not too dissimilarly to Gazorg.
The boss mainly relies on very slow, telegraphed melee attacks, which pack a punch, but are pretty easy to evade.
Other than that, the boss will also spawn little mushroom minions that will crowd the battlefield, but using running attacks and heavy attacks to exact crowd control is more than enough to avoid getting overwhelmed.
The only other tip I would offer is to try to get behind this boss as much as possible, as their swipe attacks have a fair bit of reach. So, even if you’re ready to dodge, standing in front of him may mean you’ll take the hit anyway. That said, you can always deflect or clash to expedite your victory.
After this, pick up your spoils from defeating this boss, and when you get back to camp, be sure to turn in the Hidden Cave quest, and the quest related to defeating Mushtroll for a fistful of Crystals.
