A Ship of Gold quest is part of Peter Pan’s storyline in Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s A Rift in Time expansion. It has multiple objectives that task players to explore Skull Rock, collect Pixie Dust, bring a pirate ship back to life, and solve various puzzles along the way. In this article, we have put up a complete step-by-step guide on how to complete A Ship of Gold quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Unlocking A Ship of Gold Quest and Entering Skull Rock
Before A Ship of Gold quest becomes available, you’ll need to complete the Shadows in the Water quest. Once that’s done, Skull Rock will fully open up, and you will be able to enter through the archway that was previously blocked. Inside, you’ll encounter the Forgotten and continue your journey.
Find the Pixie Dust Orb and Follow Its Trail
Once you arrive at the new area, inspect the rocks on the left side near the Forgotten. Use your Royal Pickaxe to smash them, you’ll uncover a pile of Pixie Dust and a Rope Winch. Collect both items, then return to the Forgotten to continue the quest.
The Forgotten will tell you that breaking open that rock freed a Pixie Dust Orb inside Skull Rock. This orb will move around in tunnels, and your next objective is to follow it while gathering all the Pixie Dust it drops along the way.
There are six spots where the orb will stop, allowing you to collect Pixie Dust. These spots are as follows:
- The first pile is right where you broke the cliffside rocks.
- The second dust pile is on the ground level of the cave, near the entrance to Skull Rock.
- Go through the door behind the previous spot, use the Rope Winch on the sparkling ring, turn the wheel, and proceed through the arch. Break a wall ahead with your pickaxe to reach the orb’s third stop.
- The fourth dust pile is beyond more boulders in the tunnel. Keep breaking through the walls in your path until the next dust pile appears.
- You’ll reach a dead end near a candle-lit chest. Break the wall on the right, then take two left turns to find the Pixie Dust.
- Head back to the previous room. The orb will go back there, grab it, and collect the dust, which also gives you the orb itself.
Use the Pixie Dust to Raise the Pirate Ship
Leave the tunnel and head to the pirate ship docked on the first floor. Climb the pier, stand in front center of the ship, and interact to apply the Pixie Dust you’ve gathered. The ship will glow gold and launch upward, creating a bridge to the upper deck of Skull Rock.
Walk across the floating ship to reach the third level. You’ll find the Forgotten waiting there again. Speak with them before proceeding to the next puzzle area.
Solve the Barrel Puzzle to get the Captain’s Key
Look around and you’ll notice six barrels, each marked with its own symbol. To unlock the captain’s key and progress on the Ship of Gold quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you must rotate the barrels such that the two symbols facing each other pair up as a character from Peter Pan’s story. The solution to this puzzle is as follows:
- Hook paired with Clock (Captain Hook).
- Bell paired with Pixie (Tinker Bell).
- Shadow paired with Sewing Needle (Peter Pan).
You can use hints from the Jade Skulls if needed. When each pair is aligned correctly, the puzzle will be completed. Once the barrels are matched, the Captain’s Key will appear on a round table just behind the Forgotten. Go back and pick it up.
Return to the pirate ship and unlock the cabin door using the Captain’s Key. Inside the cabin, find the piano at the right side of the room and collect the Rope Winch near it.
Unlocking the Final Gate
Make your way back to where the Forgotten is. Behind him, you’ll see a glowing mechanism on the wall. Interact with it and place the Rope Winch, then rotate the wheel to open the second large gate within the area. Doing so will wrap up the A Ship of Gold quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
