The Mother Tree event is the latest addition to 99 Nights in the Forest. It arrived with the Fairy Biome update on January 10, 2026, and is one of the most engaging time-limited objectives that you can experience in the Roblox game. You must basically revive the Mother Tree, which can prove to be a rewarding task.
However, it is important that you know that reviving the Mother Tree requires you to think strategically about resource farming and positioning. You are essentially ailing an ancient forest and reconnecting its severed roots to the hot springs.
Given that many players make mistakes in the process of reviving the Mother Tree, here is a detailed guide that will help you out.
Finding the Mother Tree in 99 Nights in the Forest’s Fairy Biome

To get started, you should upgrade your campfire to at least Level 3 in 99 Nights in the Forest. The Fairy Biome will then become accessible on your map. I recommend you push the campfire to Level 4, as it will grant you access to the Fairy NPC, making navigation easier.
After your campfire reaches a particular level, you must look for a distinctive bluish-green area marked by a tree icon on your map. It is where you can find the Mother Tree. As the biome appears relatively close to your spawn point, you will be able to save a lot of travel time and can invest the same in farming instead.
After you find the Mother Tree, you will notice that its roots are not submerged in the water pool, which is essential for reviving it. Accordingly, you will need to get Acorns and connect the roots to the pool. The entire process seems easy, but it can be a bit challenging, as you can encounter hostile entities like Wolves.
How to use Acorns and connect Mother Tree to the pool
I learned through painful repetition that acorns are essential to your success, and you can’t progress without them. They are pretty much the sole thing that you need to revive the Mother Tree in 99 Nights in the Forest.
To get Acorns, you can try hunting Fairy Wolves throughout the biome, as they drop acorns consistently, though the drop rates are RNG-based. I have experienced those frustrating “dry streaks” where several consecutive wolves yield nothing, which is completely normal but feels terrible in the moment. Prepare for this by clearing dozens of wolves before you even approach the tree.
You are advised to grab a fast sword, clear your inventory space, and methodically thin the wolf population. Stockpiling acorns even before you find the roots will help you to efficiently complete the entire event.
Now comes the next step in the process, i.e., planting the acorns and growing the roots. This is where precision matters significantly. You basically have to approach the Mother Tree and identify the glowing light nodes along its severed roots. The light nodes are the planting locations.
You will then have to equip an acorn and position yourself exactly at the edge of the glowing root area. After you are positioned correctly, you must press “E” repeatedly. I’ve found the hitbox is finicky, so don’t panic if it doesn’t register immediately.
In case the hitbox doesn’t work correctly, you can reposition slightly and spam “E” until the planting animation triggers. After you have planted the acorns, the root will begin growing toward the nearest hot spring pool. You must repeat this process across multiple roots until they all connect.
What are the rewards of reviving Mother Tree in 99 Nights in the Forest?

Once every root reaches a hot spring, you will find that the magical seal protecting a secret chest breaks automatically. This chest contains high-value items, including things like a Strong Axe and an Enchanted Farm Tablet. The Strong Axe is a valuable item to have, whereas you can use the Farm Tablet to change your farming layout.
