9 Helpful Tips to get Started in Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault

Whether you want to be a businessman who deals with relic sales or a badass with a weapon that brings down tough bosses in the roguelike playing field, Moonlighter 2 brings the best of both sides. The game can be difficult with its bosses, and also with its business side. We have prepared 9 helpful tips to help you navigate properly in your early run in Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault.

#1. Don’t Upgrade Your Weapon & Armor Right Away

While it can be very enticing to upgrade the first thing that you have in your possession, save the resources for later. At the beginning, the gold and other materials will be low, so don’t invest unless you are very sure of the weapon or armor choice.

    #2. Upgrade the Potion Amount

You can upgrade your potion amount to carry more with you before starting a new dungeon run. Having one more potion will save your life. We have a guide to help you figure out the steps to unlock the potions and make them powerful to fill up more than 50% of your HP bar.

    #3. Increase your Backpack Space

You can raise the backpack space to a higher number by spending Gold on the Silver NPC in the southern region of the map. More backpacks will help you carry more relics with you on your dungeon run. They can get expensive, but they are worth it in the long run.

    #4. Strategizing the Dungeon Run

If a run is about to fail, then you can return to the hub area without causing damage to the relics. Every time you die in the Dunegon run, your relics will lose their quality. So if you are not too sure about taking down the final boss of the dungeon, then press and hold B to return to the hub area. Don’t worry, you will have all of your relics with their quality intact.

#5. Always Sell When the Relics are Full

Don’t sell single relics; make sure you have a bunch of them before opening the store to the customers. After a few sales, you will get a perk to obtain a tip for every sale. You will also get perks such as Epic or Rare items, and receive 10% more sales. So always keep a bag full of relics before opening the store. Check our guide here on how to make money fast by selling Relics.

    #6. Use Patches

Talk to Julien by the river south of the Merchant’s house, and he will sell you patches. He will show up in the hub area after a little while. These patches act as a swappable perk that allows you either to resist damage by x amount to find relics with +x quality, or to increase the Gun damage by x amount. You can even further increase the effectiveness of the patches by upgrading them with the required materials and Gold.

    #7. Setting up Furniture

Placing the correct furniture is not done just for aesthetic reasons; these objects can also help you increase the overall sales of the relics. Some furniture will help you get 40% more value when selling legendary relics, while others can help you start the shop with a 100 Gold Tip jar (100 Gold from every sale, starting from the first). You have to talk to the Countess to buy the furniture.

Note: You can also unlock the recipe for furniture by obtaining it during your dungeon runs. Keep an eye out for tiles with the scroll icon, and complete the combat encounter on these tiles to get the furniture recipes.

    #8. Buying Materials

If you are looking for specific material for an upgrade but don’t want to do a dungeon run, then you can buy it from Nou across the Silver NPC (Backpack upgrade NPC). You can buy all sorts of materials from him. But he only sells materials that you have already unlocked.

#9. Selling Relics at a Good Price

How to Sell Relics at a Higher Price in Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault Shop Selling

When you have a new relic that is Epic or Rare quality, put the price tag somewhere between 500 and 800. You can sell the relics at a cheap price, but you will lose money per relic. You also have the option to sell them at a high price, but customers will not be happy paying the price for it. That’s why it is better to sell them at a good price, which lies between cheap and high. Selling them at a good price will help you get the favor from the customer while still making a good amount of money from the relic.

The game doesn’t force you to play in a specific way; you can either just get the relics and sell them to own a thriving business or prepare your gear to head into the battle against the strongest foes waiting just near the house. So take the tips to help you make your run in Moonlighter 2 better and effective.
