Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is a challenging survival horror experience, and one that makes you scrape by with whatever you can find. This is why making the most of the coins you find as you explore the Labyrinth and beyond is vital.
When you gain access to the merchant soon after watching Charlotte change into her monstrous form, you’ll be able to spend your riches, and want to help you spend wisely. Here are some items that we would consider ideal investments if you want to keep alive.
Lockpick Recipe

Especially if you’re playing on a harder difficulty, you’ll need to gather every single resource possible, and one thing that will help you do that is having a lockpick handy. There are several locked cabinets and containers throughout this survival horror epic, and not being able to get into one of them because you broke your pick could prove fatal.
That’s why buying a lockpick Recipe early on is a great way to spend some dough. It’s a safety net for when you get a lockpicking attempt badly wrong, and will allow you to get some much needed materials to keep taking the fight to the Cenobites.
Medkit Recipe

An important caveat up front. I wouldn’t suggest you buy this one right away, as bandages do the job just fine in the early stages. But by the time you are hunting Charlotte, you should have purchased the Medkit Recipe, as this is a great way to make sure you don’t have excess cloth and chemical materials stacking up, and makes healing a lot more potent.
Plus, if you do leave it a little longer before purchasing this one, you’ll get a 25% discount, making it worth passing on in those early stages.
Against basic enemies, a bandage is more than enough. But when you start taking on bosses and more varied enemy types, these Medkits really do come in handy.
Heavy Grain Bullets & Rifle Barrel (Pistol)

You will get a wide variety of weapons as you work your way through Hellraiser Revival, but one that remains consistently helpful throughout is your trusty pistol. However, if you want to maintain its use, you need to add some useful upgrades.
Two that I would highly recommend are the Heavy Grain Bullets upgrade that improves the base damage of the weapon, and the Rifle Barrel upgrade that vastly improves the accuracy of your pistol.
I would also say that, if you’re playing with an aim assist toggled on, you don’t need to waste money on the Rifle Barrel upgrade, but if you’re playing as the developers intended, both of these are super helpful investments.

The Nailer

Firearms will get you a long way in Hellraiser Revival, but there will be times where your bullet reserves run dry and you need to resort to melee to get you out of a jam. To be prepared for this, it’s a good idea to invest 100 coins in The Nailer, a Pinhead-themed bludgeon.
It’s good to invest in this one early on, as you’ll have quite a few basic and advanced repair kits likely lingering in your inventory or storage. These can be used to keep this one in good shape so you don’t break it and lose your investment.
Better melee options come along later, and eventually there will simply be better blunt weapons laying around. But, early on, this is a super thing to have when you need to need to come out swinging.
Dragon’s Breath Shotgun Upgrade

The Shotgun feels like an absolute gift from the gods when you get it, as it blows back just about anything that gets up close and personal. However, there is one upgrade that easily makes this the most potent, almost game-breaking cheat code.
The Dragon’s Breath Upgrade makes every shot light enemies on fire. Meaning your shotgun is suddenly effective even at range, stuns enemies, and usually kills any standard enemy in a single shot provided you shoot them at point blank range.
As far as upgrades go for weapons, it’s a little more expensive, but we assure you, it’s well worth buying.
Assault Rifle (AK47)

Lastly, we have the AK-47, a weapon that you won’t just find lying around and need to purchase from Zora. It’s a decent alternative to the SMG with more power, especially if you add some nice upgrades like AP rounds. But, I would also argue that, if you can find room in your bag, having both of these rapid fire weapons is a brilliant choice.
It’s pricey, costing 400 coins up front, but when the chips are down and you need another weapon type that you happen to have ammo for, the AK-47 is a godsend.
